Inktober Day 2 Part 3
part 3/3. Sometimes an image pops into my mind, so vivid that I can write entire paragraphs of the detail. This is one such pair of prompts that gave me that kind of image. Also makes me wish I could draw a lot better, but that's besides the point. You'll likely see a lot of these, along with the 2nd person perspective. I often like writing in these styles.
Prompts: Passage, Bones
Lists: a-chaotically-small-lunta's list, mallinora's list

A scene, in a dungeon that’s black and white in the dark. There is a path heading forward with bones piled up on either side. Some destroyed, some intact, some nothing more than dust. The air is cool and damp, and the lack of light implies the scenery and temperature won’t be changing any time soon. Ahead there are pendulums swinging back and forth from wall to wall. They have great curved blades at the end of them, and those blades hang from sturdy metal attached to the ceiling in ball-and-socket joints. Their rhythmic swinging is almost like clockwork.
One, two, three, go! Wait… two, three, four, one, two, three, go!
Soon enough, you’re out and on the other side, intact. Looking back, you realize the bones closest to the pendulum’s paths are quite deeply cut. You shudder to think of the impact if you weren’t as careful. Surprisingly, however, the passage is mostly clean. Whoever owns this dungeon must take good care of it. Though whether that’s a point in favor of the owner is yet to be determined. You head on anyway, determined to get to the bottom of what’s happening. This is a grim place to be sure…
