12, 14, 29?
12. What drives you away from a ship?
I’m not a common jealousy trope fan and there are some ships that are, like, founded on that so that will usually drive me away from it. There are times the fandom has kinda been the cause to burn me out on a ship but thankfully, for those, I usually come back to them after a bit of a break.
14. Has a fanbase ever made you ship or not ship something? Why?
I don’t think the fandom has ever made me not ship something really, but it’s more that I can get tired from over-saturation of certain ships or the prevalent fanon portrayal over them? But then I just turn around and write my own spin on the ship and usually I’m fine, haha.
29. Do you like OCs (Original Characters)?
It’s funny because like two years ago, I would’ve answered that I’m all for people having them but I don’t really like to see them in fanfic but then I had my eyes opened to how awesome they can be for a story and I’m definitely for them in fanfic now if they work with the plot. Also, fanwork is all about what the creator wants to do so if someone wants to put Marinette in a story with all OCs, then go for it, you funky lil peacock. Do you, bugaboo. Just have fun. Create and grow and have fun and love OCs.
Thanks so much for your tabikaeru guides! I’m sorry if this has been answered already, but are there any guides that spell out which food/charm/item combinations are most likely to result in souvenirs? Or is the best you can do just “pack the most expensive stuff and hope for the best”?
I’m so sorry! I totally forgot to respond to this. Life’s been weird lately and I keep forgetting things.
Anyway, while I haven’t done any Tabikaeru translation in about a year (people didn’t seem to need them anymore and I was busy, so I stopped) as far as I know there’s no way to control that. I used to keep up with the Japanese wiki, and while like i said, I haven’t looked lately, last I checked no one knew how to do that. Unfortunately, there just seems to be a lot of luck involved. You can use some items that give you a better chance of going to a certain region, but you can’t decide where in that region you go or whether you get souvenirs.
Sorry I can’t be of more help!
Amaya/Gren?
I adore their relationship, but I see them more with a sibling or best friend dynamic. I understand the people who do ship them, but I like them without romance!
Join Me, mamanath
"Nathalie."
The voice.
"Nathalie!"
She knew that voice.
"Get up! Come with me!"
Whose voice was this?
"Open your eyes, darling."
She did as she was commanded.
"I know you." It was a question.
"You do," said the golden haired goddess smiling down on her. She held out her hand. "Come on! We haven't got forever. Yet." She winked.
Used to following orders, Nathalie took her hand. The goddess tugged her to her feet. With a laugh, she started to run, dragging Nathalie behind.
"Where are we going?"
"Somewhere where it can be just the two of us."
Oh. That sounded nice.
They ran through darkness to more darkness. Eventually, there were trees, and the goddess led her through them. Nathalie reached out to touch the leaves as they walked past.
"These are lovely." They were familiar, too.
"They're my favorite. You remember that, don't you?"
"I found them for you," she said, the leaves and branches bending to the light pressure of her hand as she walked between the neat rows.
"You did! You were so clever, too. You got us quite the bargain. I made sure you got quite a nice bonus at Christmas for it."
"Christmas." Why couldn't she remember all these things herself? "The last Christmas before..."
The goddess stopped and turned to face Nathalie, taking her hands. "Let's not think about that part. Just remember the trees. Remember how you used to look at me. We can have forever, darling. You just have to follow me."
The trees opened up to another familiar scene. A golden coffin surrounded by flowers.
"Wait." Nathalie tried to pull her hand free. "Christmas. You left us. We loved you, and you didn't listen."
"Shh." The goddess reached out, brushing back the piece of hair that always fell in Nathalie's eyes. "I told you not to think about that part. Now, keep following me."
They drew nearer the coffin. Something was wrong, Nathalie knew this. But how could she say no to this beautiful woman who wanted to be with her?
"Remember, follow me." The goddess stepped up to the coffin, lifting the glass lid. "You're already halfway there, aren't you?" She laid down, reaching out a hand for Nathalie. "We can be together, forever. Just the two of us. Join me. It's so peaceful, Nathalie."
Nathalie knew she couldn't say no. She never could say no to her. She stepped up to the side of the coffin. There was room for two. She took the goddess's hand again, gripping it to boost herself up.
"Do you really want to join me, Nathalie?"
She woke with a start, gasping for air. Another coughing fit had her seeing stars. But the tears in her eyes were there before the pain in her lungs registered. It was the pain in her heart that did that. The heart she didn't know she had until Emilie.
"Don't follow me, Nathalie."
Like a whisper, the last bit of the dream faded. When her breathing eased, she laid back down. The bed felt empty now that she knew what it felt like to lie next to Emilie.
