“I -” Lambert started to speak and then stopped, taken aback by Jaskier’s easy acceptance of Calamity’s importance to him. “Right. I can’t risk losing her.” “Then we’d best make sure Geralt and Roach are as prepared as possible for the races so they can be sure to win her back.” Jaskier said. Geralt watched as Lambert’s prickly shell retracted a bit, eased by Jaskier’s accepting nature and straightforward approach. He let out a breath. Perhaps this wouldn’t end so badly after all.

Lambert is totally wrongfooted by Jaskier here.  He’s expecting some powerful, traditional Dominant - given that Geralt is strong and powerful and that Vesemir is about as gruff and traditional as they come - so he has no idea how to reconcile that expectation with the reality of Jaskier.

The idea that this soft Dominant could make Geralt submit just doesn’t make sense to him.  He’s also not used to such easy acceptance of his needs.  He’s used to fighting back, to taking a stand and demanding what he needs (like how he fought with the steward in Town Hall) and Jaskier just will not engage.  He just accepts that Lambert needs what he says he needs and then  right away wants to help?  That’s just not computing for him but Jaskier seems decent and Geralt is acting weird but he doesn’t seem distressed or overpowered, so Lambert lets himself relax a bit and decides to see where this goes, to observe before he reacts.  Because he wants to protect Geralt, but he doesn’t want to break something good for him because he acted too hastily.

I love your art and especially all your Good Omens AU. I'm so glad I found you, thanks for sharing your art with the world ❤️ I already fell in love with the reverse omens AU and then you made the WoW AU and they are both gorgeous. You have my utmost respect for designing them, they both look absolutely badass. Do you have any more AUs planned or will you build some more on the existing ones?

I likely won’t keep making AUs because tbh... I prefer the source material at the end of the day; I mostly make these “AUs” just because I want to do certain designs and then I end up getting carried away!

I’ll probably elaborate more on both Reversed Omens and this WoW AU, at least while they still hold my interest!

My calendar finally arrived here in Germany (shipping was fast, customs took ages...) and I'm so happy, everything looks so pretty and all people involved did an awesome job! Thank you all for creating this calendar.

“No, you don’t. I’m here and I want to help you.” Geralt said firmly. “I won’t hear any argument, so just shut up and accept it.” Jaskier had shown him the power of giving and accepting assistance, and he wasn’t about to let his little brother suffer alone. Lambert spun back to look at him, an obvious refusal on his lips, but then he abruptly stopped, biting back his words. He stared hard at Geralt, searching his eyes for something, and a curious look crossed his face.

This is the moment Lambert really realizes that something is different about Geralt.  He’d hoped for the best outcome for him when he heard about Jaskier, but this is the first time they’ve interacted in about a year and a half and that happened before Jaskier learned Geralt’s secret and started to help him build himself back up.

He’s caught up in his anger and shame about losing Calamity.  He’s itching for a fight and he keeps getting told no and now Geralt is spouting some nonsense about helping? To him, it’s just another input he can’t deal with.  Because the witchers are taught to be self-sufficient and Lambert has trouble accepting help from others, especially when he knows he got himself into this mess.

But Geralt is different enough that Lambert goes along with this just to know what the hell is up with him. He’s worried this is the product of some sort of problematic interaction with Jaskier, like maybe Jaskier is manipulating Geralt through his submissive side like Vesemir feared?

He’s impulsive, but more than that, he’s protective and he’s willing to go along with this crazy idea of Geralt’s for now to get a better read on what’s going on.  If Jaskier had given him any red flags, he would have taken him out and spirited Geralt away.

2. I kind of want to try my hand at either a/b/o or a soulmate trope.  I can see so much potential for angst there that could be interesting to explore.  Even if I did a/b/o, it would probably be the least sexual one ever, much like my BDSM au that has no sex in it (though the last chapter will live up to its M rating).  I just like the relationship dynamics and powerplays inherent in those tropes and I think it’s an interesting lens to use.

8.”“At first, I travelled with him because he was interesting and I wanted to see the world through his eyes.  He’s an excellent muse.”  Jaskier said with a fond smile.  “But then I started to see who he is as a man and not just as a witcher.  I feel comfortable with him in a way I’ve never truly felt comfortable with anyone before.  I am a better man because of him.”

“Would you have stayed with him even if he weren’t a submissive?”  Lambert asked.

“Of course.  I think I knew he was even before he told me, but I wanted to care for him, to protect him, because of who he is, not what he is.”  Jaskier said, meeting Lambert’s eyes steadily. 

“And will you stay even if he never settles down?  Never wants you to tell anyone that he’s your submissive?”  Lambert asked, gaze sharpening.

“Even then.”  Jaskier said firmly.  “He was good enough to offer to tell my family and he won them over, as I expected he would, but even if he never wants to tell another soul, I won’t care.  I treasure Geralt’s submission as the gift it is, not because I want to be known as a witcher’s Dominant.” 

Lambert held Jaskier’s gaze for a long moment, fingers tight on Geralt’s wrist.“You truly mean that.” Lambert said finally before his serious expression broke into a teasing smirk.  “You’re just as touched in the head as he is, you fuckers are perfect for each other.”

Jaskier snorted, reaching out to shove Lambert’s shoulder.  “Oh, fuck off, you’re just jealous I get to cuddle with Geralt more than you do.”

“Yeah,” Lambert drawled, eyebrows raised, “cuddling up to that onion-scented arse must be a real treat.”

“My arse is a delight.” Geralt said from his position lounging against Jaskier’s knees.”

I’d never really tried to write any humorous interactions before and I also worked hard to balance Lambert’s character in the context of this AU.: he’s a Dominant but also a little brother.  Protective and a lil’ shit.  I wanted his scenes to be a blend of actual emotional weight (because he would want to be sure Geralt is safe with Jaskier) and sharp humor (because Lambert never keeps anything serious for long without deflecting) and also show how much Geralt has changed and how wrong-footed Lambert was at times trying to adjust to the new normal.

Haha, I didn't realise you are a fellow German fan. I never read the German version so I didn't realize they call Aziraphale Fürst (which I agree sounds dumb) but it does seem to be the official German name in angel hierarchy. So I'll probably never going to watch the dub version, I don't think I can deal with the translation 😂
