First Look: The Alpine A110 R Ultime
Built in a limited run of just 110 unique examples, the A110 R Ultime is the finest expression of the A110. Assembled at the historic Jean Rédélé Alpine plant in Dieppe, the A110 R Ultime is a unique, ultra-sports car, taking performance to the extreme.
Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, it is around 20 seconds faster than the A110 R on a lap of the Nordschleife (Nürburgring, Germany). Producing up to 345 bhp, the A110 R Ultime is exceptional for both its performance and its power-to-weight ratio.

アルペン・ラリーでの優勝を機に「アルピーヌ」を車名に冠したアルピーヌ創業者ジャン・レデレ渾身の力作。
1965年、東京・晴海の外車ショーで日本初上陸。
流麗なプレスラインにフレンチブルーのボディカラーが美しい、アルピーヌ・ベルリネッタ。
13インチ・ゴッティのアルミホイールに扁平率70というぽってりしたタイヤがオリジナルのままで抜群に似合っていました。
外装は超軽量FRPモノコックボディで、以前の同社の車のラジエターは車体の後ろ置きでしたが、このA110から前置きに仕様変更され冷却効果が改善、ラリーのような耐久レースでの戦闘力が格段に向上しました。
リア縦置き1296cc水冷直列4気筒OHVエンジンと2基のウェーバーキャブレターをバックボーンタイプのフレームに乗せたシャーシ・レイアウトで初代WRCチャンピオンの栄誉に輝いたフランスの名車です。

Produced by Alpine and launched initially as a 1100cc model, the A110 was powered by various Renault engines, the car was a natural progression from the A108 which used a lot of Renault Dauphine components, the A110 was updated to use R8 parts. the A110 featured a steel backbone chassis with fiberglass body. The A110 was originally available with 1.1 L R8 Major or R8 Gordini engines. The A110 achieved most of its fame in the early 1970s as a victorious rally car. After winning several rallies in France in the late 1960s with iron-cast R8 Gordini engines the car was fitted with the aluminium-block Renault 16 TS engine. With two dual-chamber Weber 45 carburettors the TS engine delivered 125 hp The car reached international fame during the 1970-1972 seasons when it participated in the newly created International Championship for Manufacturers, winning several events around Europe and being considered one of the strongest rally cars of its time. Notable performances from the car included victory on the 1971 Monte Carlo Rally with Swedish driver Ove Andersson.
