How often do you receive charecters and suggestions for pdr? is it ever grueling? or is it simple ?

More than you think, probably! I’d say I get somewhere between 1-3 new character submissions a month, but sometimes I get “sheets” people have made with a bunch of character submissions. It’s safe to say I have a pretty sizeable backlog at this point.

For the most part, using reader-submitted characters is a lot of fun! There’s a lot of really cool characters and designs that have come out of this system, and it’s great to include readers in more than just command submissions. The only real problem comes about when trying to decide when and where to use everyone’s characters. I don’t want to introduce a bunch of characters randomly, so a lot of submissions don’t get used until months or even years after they’ve been submitted. I still have a bunch of characters from 2015 I’m hoping to use sometime. This is why I usually encourage simple characters with no “purpose”, since they’re a lot easier to add into the story.
