Canāt a feminist be proud of her own body? #A4waistchallenge
You may have come across the recent internet hype where some girls post pictures of their thin waist compared to an A4 paper, and the more women screaming the F-word towards this hype since they feel judged by the size of their waist. Iāve seen posts like āyou have a thin waist, so what, I have a university degree!ā and numerous others calling the act ignorant and flipping the middle finger.
Iām shocked by the hostility from women towards small-sized women. Especially when this hostility is in the name of feminism. Itās like when a girl is thin then she must be insecure about herself and have eating disorders, or that when a girl is pretty on the outside then she must have no brains.
There are lots of guys who post pictures of their muscles on the internet, and I never see anyone calling them ābody shamersā or āobjectifying themselvesā. Why is it that when a fit girl flaunts her body, sheād be faced with such accusations?
Iām so tired of those women who consider themselves better than the āshallowā pretty girls, because they think they are more than ājust the looksā. But why? Do you think that a woman canāt be both physically attractive and have a university degree?
Wake up! There are a lot of women out there that are smarter than you are, more hard working than you are, received better education than you did, and also prettier and fitter than you are! If you immediately make unfounded accusations towards the girls who show off their body, then YOU are the one objectifying women.
Thanks but I donāt need anyoneās lecture on āyou are beautiful the way you areā. I KNOW Iām beautiful the way I am, and Iām proud of it. I love being pretty, and I do NOT do it for men. I like to be pretty and fit because it pleases me. I wear make-up because it makes myself happy. I show off my body because I am secure about my own body.
Iām a talented fashion designer, and Iām proud of it.Ā
Iām an intelligent woman and have a Masterās degree, and Iām proud of it.Ā
I speak 4 languages fluently, and Iām proud of it.Ā
I am a beautiful woman and have a nice body, and Iām ALSO proud of it.
And if I want to flaunt the size of my waist, I can and itās none of your business. Because if youāre really a feminist, then you should know that ā A woman can bloody well decide whatever she wants to do with her own body!
So, to those who think that a woman should not be proud of her appearances: how dare you tell a woman what not to do.
