There used to be a road up Mam Tor, but due to earth movements it has been destroyed over the years, in some places the drop is about 10 ft.    The road was the A625 from Castleton to Chapel en le Frith.  You should be able to see the rd winding up Mam Tor towards the centre of the picture.
