Katsuki Bakugou is 15 when he's kidnapped by pirates and left to die in the middle of the ocean. Before he drowns, he encounters a lonely purple mer before waking up safe and alive on a distant beach. Now confronted with the reality of merfolk and not just the luxury goods made from their vibrant scales or the hatred seafarers have held for generations for the apparent monsters of the water, young Bakugou is determined to change things and find the mer with amethyst eyes again.
Hitoshi Shinsou is used to being alone but one day he finds a human boy in the middle of nowhere, nearly drowned. He knows interacting with humans is even more dangerous even than interacting with other mer but he can't just do nothing. The mer never expects to see him again, but he hopes the boy with ruby eyes and golden hair finds his home, something young Shinsou has never had.
