Mod Post: Fest extension

Hello lovely A/A shippers,

This is just a quick note to say that the fest end date was given wrongly in the first date post (my fault, & I apologise): the end date should have been 14th July. If no one has any objections, I’d like to extend the fest to the end of July. This should allow us to cover any fic produced for Inception kink bingo, any one taking part in Inceptiversary (their 30 day challenge is excellent, & this week is rarepairs week, meaning they would love all your A/A related reccs, fics, mixes & art) and encourage signups for inception_reversebang.

If anyone would like to open their ask box to prompts (or has had an open ask box & wishes to close it), please drop us a note. We’d like to thank everyone who has taken part so far: You are awesome, & we love what you’re doing. 

On a related note, a small reminder that this is an exclusively Ariadne/Arthur ship blog, & we will not tolerate or respond to any kind of ship bashing or anon hate that is sent to us by anyone; nor if it appears in our usual tags; & nor will we tolerate any of our participants being abused in a similar manner. We do not & will not engage in, endorse or encourage it for any other ships from any fandom, & we ask that we are extended the same courtesy. Thank you.

Greetings once more fabulous AA appreciators :) This is just a short update on plans for this year’s fest so far:

kore-rising has an open ask box, & will be completeing prompts submitted to hir in the past. 

We have some amazing people taking part this year! Posting of filled prompts, reccs, meta and so on will begin on June 16th, so there’s plenty of time to get your prompts in!

Theme weeks, meta questions and a watch along have all been suggested, so if you have any ideas, or you are an author or artist who wants to accept prompts or make something for the fest, add a note or send an ask to us. We’ll update this post as we hear more.

My first prompt for A/A Fest 2016.

Here you go, anon!

It’s the smell of smoke as much as the sudden chill that wakes Ariadne up, but it’s the soft orange light dimming out just beyond the balcony entrance that has her tossing on whatever clothing is within easy reach.

“Arthur? Are you—

Casually, Arthur straightens from his bent position over the balcony railing, clad only in his underwear, a half smoked cigarette poised between two fingers.

“That’s an interesting look,” he comments, amusement quirking his lips.

She looks down at the white undershirt and black knee socks she threw on.

“I got cold,” she tells him with just a hint of accusation. “Besides, I can say the same for you.” She nods in his direction. “I didn’t know you wear glasses.”

He readjusts the black frames on his nose before answering. “I wear contacts most of the time, usually when I’m working on a job. The glasses are for…” His words much like his gaze trails off, his eyes sweeping down the length of her and resting to where her shirt hits the top of her thighs, barely hiding the fact she couldn’t find her underwear. “...when I’m not working.”

She wonders if his glasses also provide x-ray vision when her nipples harden under the not quite loose enough shirt.

“I didn’t know you smoked,” she comments, trying to distract...one of them, she’s not sure who.

“The smoking is a cliché.” He stuffs out his cigarette on the metal railing before guiding her back inside the hotel room.

“What do you mean?” She eagerly climbs back into bed, seeking the warmth of the rumpled sheets.

“I don’t usually smoke,” he says, joining her on the bed. “I only feel the urge for a cigarette after…” He pulls her close, his hands finding their way under her shirt, his shirt.

“After…?”

“After we do this,” he cuts in, lips nipping her neck while hands lift his shirt up over her head.

ARIADNE/ARTHUR APPRECIATION FEST 2016

Hello lovely people!

After a bit discussion, we’ve decided to hold another A/A fest this month for everyone who might be interested. If you’re a writer, an artist, want to make a fanmix or create some meta, or even if you’d just enjoy having another fest, please send us a message or add a note to this post. 

At the moment we’re thinking of starting posting in a week’s time, so if anyone wants to open their ask box for prompts and so on then let us know and we’ll start a list post so anyone interested can drop by your ask box.

WIP Meme

My good friend @kore-rising tagged me in the WIP meme. The rules are as follows: go to page 7 of a WIP, skip to the 7th line, share 7 sentences, and tag 7 more writers to continue the challenge.

Buuuuut, the thing is...........I’m not that far on any WIP and I shamefully only have a page. So this starts from the seventh sentence and is the following seven sentences.

Uh.....sorry about that guys... Here we go:

“Sorry, I know it’s a lot. Need me to repeat?” The barista—who noticed Ariadne behind the customer mouthing along and rolling her eyes—shook her head and turned to the other barista to hand over the list. The guy paid, then turned around to wait off to the side.

When he turned, he looked at the petite girl standing behind him, whom he noticed from his usual morning coffee runs. She was beautiful and always comfortably dressed, hardly wore makeup, and always had ink smudges on her neck and hands.  He never spoke to her because she was so intimidating, but he got the vibe from her that she wouldn’t be interested in speaking with him.

To my A/A friends

I have no excuse anymore for how late I am on filling your prompts from the aa fest earlier this year. I can’t promise I’ll get them done before the end of the year, but I will get them done before the end of 2016. Not a lot of hope, but time flies, and hopefully I can find a muse again.
