Heya Joey! Do you have any cool stuff you remember from seeing Newsies on stage? Or just favorite part/cast member?

OH MY GOSH!!! I don’t know if this counts, because this is an out of the ordinary experience from regular shows, but I have a really really amaaaazing story from when I went to the second-to-last show on my 16th birthday!!!Without me knowing, my mom tweeted all the cast and the theatre that it was going to be my birthday, and that I was delivering art for the actors. During intermission, an usher pulled me aside and told me that she knew it was my birthday, and that ‘all of the boys knew too’. She also promised to help me get some of the newspapers since I couldn’t reach the thrown ones during intermission. I was grinning SOO wide. (Not to mention I met other teens my age there!!! They were so kind and we all exchanged instagrams and stuff omg.) Also: the top balcony was full of fansies wanting to see a last show and they were cheering SO MUCH by the end of the show and you could tell the actors could feel it. It was so amazing and I wanted to cry. Anyways, after the show ended, the usher lead me to the stage door and gave me this HUGE stack of the prop papers and this pretty big sticker for the historical Newsboy’s Union!!! It was absolutely amazing; I could barely breathe. And all the actors came out, and of course they were all so so so incredible. I was shaking and pretty quiet and fearful the whole time, but they were always so kind to me.Joey (the other Joey, haha) found out it was my birthday, and sung me half of Happy Birthday in a Kermit the frog voice (?????). It was.. a time and a half. Also! He looked at my drawing and said “oh my gosh!!! he’s brown; like me!”. That made me both happy and sad. DRAW👏JOEY'S👏JACK👏BROWN👏!!! Morgan Keene and Andy Richardson had the best and most amazing hugs in the world. They were both really ecstatic about my art and gosh that was such an honor. I was so scared and anxious and they were so kind to me. As always, Daniel Switzer was really really excited about my art, and took a photo with me. It made me so so so so sooo happy. Also, Anthony Zas’ reaction to my drawing for him was “Oh my god, that is so FIERCE!!!” which I will always remember.The next day, Morgan posted my drawing on her Instagram with a really really really sweet caption, and tagged me. She also sent me a message telling me I was talented, and to keep doing what I was doing. Daniel Switzer also posted my art again!!! I was literally crying aah oh my gosh.It was one of the most incredible experiences of my entire life. Just writing this has allowed me to live through it again.Conclusion: all the cast AND CREW of Newsies are such incredible, amazing, and wonderful human beings. I will literally never forget my 16th birthday.
