Honestly I’ve never started reading LiS comics and I think I never will :/ the first game is special to me, it has a place in my heart, and I just don’t.... want this special feeling I have for it to be ruined by the writing of the comics. sorry for the random vent!

sorry for coming into ur inbox like this but the comics are such a clusterfuck and it makes me so sad :( like i thought the writing was kinda underwhelming from the beginning ngl but watching it spiral downward so much has been depressing lmao. none of the heart or soul from the game is there and god it could have been such a good opportunity to make up for some of the game's issues and deliver a more accurate female/lgbt-centric narrative + revive interest in the series but instead we got This

dont be sorry! i agree w/you. vieceli is good at capturing the characters’ voices wrt dialogue, but in terms of characterization & plot-construction, it’s just weak and unrealistic.

people who bought this comic were pricefielders wanting see them finally live a happy life together as they heal. we didn’t buy this comic to see max watch on in a completely different world like this fragile little thing while everyone else gets to live this perfect li(f)e.

sure, to have a story you have to have some tension, but was it necessary to literally rip max and chloe away from each other again? when all they ever wanted was to be with each other? they couldn’t come up with anything else? “we couldn’t give you this thing (we wont tell you exactly why because there is no actual reason) so instead take this thing that you didn’t actually ask for or want. cool, right? you’re happy now?”

and like what about bae chloe.....what happened to her life? the lines “i wish we could stay like this forever” + “somewhere out there, we do” is setting up exactly what we want to see. so why don’t they get to be together right where they are? they had to make up ‘flickers’ in order to split them up again, something that was never an original part of the game. why did the flickers start up right when they did? could squeenix hear the distant sound of wallets opening up? it’s constant will-they or won’t-they, carrot-dangling all the way to the bank, and i’m just annoyed.

also i know this arc isn’t over yet, but we’re 75% of the way done, and so far, nothing has been done with the deja vu chloe’s been experiencing (the grease on her cheek, the band). like What Was The Point

it’s not true or fair to the story. it feels cheap as fuck and ik i have my opinions but im glad dontnod had nothing to do w/this so we can just toss it, y’all
