This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. Of all the possible ways life could develop, this particular scenario was, in no way, meeting the expectations and that was, to say the least, absolutely terrifying. Specially because they were completely alone in this situation. 

And perhaps it would’ve been smart to let someone know about their worries, maybe it would’ve been easier to look at the stupid test if someone had been there with them but...They had done it alone. 

They had to walk to the store, terrified and embarrassed to ask for a test and get a judging look from the lady behind the counter before going back home, alone and wait for ten minutes for a plus blue sign to reveal what their future would be like. And now that they knew, now...

“What am I going to?” Eirik whined, covering their face with both hands. Part of them felt like crying but the other knew that wouldn’t solve anything. He could go with their brother or their mother or even their uncle Jarvis but, before they could really think it through, Eirik was already walking towards one person in particular. 

They found their dad in the living room and without hesitation, they walked to him, heart beating fast against their chest, hands sweaty and a nausea feeling that they weren’t sure if it was caused by the nerves or...

“I’m pregnant.”

And that was that.
