Crowley thinks Aziraphale called him during lockdown just because he was bored. He answers with such an irritated "What." because he's insanely bored too, but more than that, he's lonely, and Aziraphale calling is going to remind him of exactly how lonely he is. He even asks if he can come over with a bottle or a case of something to go with Aziraphale's cake- a last ditch attempt at being less lonely. Aziraphale declines, only because he hates breaking rules, but he so very clearly wants to. But all Crowley hears is 'no'. Crowley may not understand that Aziraphale called to genuinely see how he was doing. He doesn't realize Aziraphale missed him, because he said he wasn't miserable and turned down his request to be together. And then Crowley hung up, slept until July, and when he woke up he probably had to move out and live in his car. And he didn't ask Aziraphale for help.
