I'm inching back to veiling full time in public, and part of my nervousness comes from wanting to wear fun prints and even thematic scarves/under caps/bandanas, like my pokemon patterned ones.

A friend of mine really shattered that guilt with a simple statement of;

"do you think you're above enjoyment or fun? Do you think you have to be above having fun?"

And I feel like that's something that really in one sweep took away my guilt; I am not going to put myself on a pedestal of having to look and do things to appear serious and important. I should be allowed to wear my veils in a fun way, the meaning and intention of veiling should always remain centered, but that comes to the responsibility of consciousness with your practice and not falling into just doing the motions. Every time you put on a veil it should be with care and mindfulness. That also applies to cleansing yourself, be present.

Men Veiling

Bitch, the next time you see some woman or femme-aligned person tell you that you can't veil as a man, walk away from her. She's not worth your time.

I've officially decided that I will incorporate head coverings, once safe to do so.

Also. As a writer, I will include more head coverings so that we have more representation. Especially the men. You can count on that.

So I'm gonna be Sappho for Halloween this year, so I wanna make a chiton. It's been several years since I last gave them a try, and I'll be sewing them by hand instead of using a sewing machine. I've been looking on Reddit about tips and tricks, particularly fabric. Like, I wanna start out with a mock up, using a bed sheet. But what size do I need? Full? Queen? King? I'm going for 60" x 60", but double the length, right? For the folding in half bit, y'know? And then for fabric, I'd like to use a soft cotton gauze for some lightweight draping.

On another note, I've once again been veiling, but y'all have heard me whine and complain about the heat and sweating to death under scarves, so I'm doing headbands. I went to Dollar Tree and bought, like, 8 different headbands, and when I got home and put them all up, along with headbands I already had, I have so much PINK in my wardrobe.

I used to only wear black or dark colours, but the last year, I've been getting into pastel pink, pearls, silver, rose quartz, that vibe, and a kinda soft, natural, pink and healthy aesthetic. I know I've talked about veiling for Hestia, but I feel like doing it for Aphrodite. The headbands not only make me feel cute and keep me a little cooler at work, but all the pink makes me feel very loved. Thank you, Lady Aphrodite

for pagans/witches who veil or cover their hair for their practice full time, do yall consider modest clothes essential to your veiling or do you still wear what you want? i’ve seen this debate among the community and am interested in seeing what everyone has to say!

for reference i do veil for my practice, just not everyday and i tend to still wear what i want but with limitations!

Trying to figure out some ways to veil. This is my attempt at using a bandana.

It feels nice. It makes me feel warmth, like, emotionally. So far, I like it. I'm still going to experiment with different styles and methods though, just in case I find something that clicks with me the most!
