All is forgiven! Perhaps something light? I would like prompt 20 with Sebastian and the farmer. Perhaps where he hasn't given them attention for a while, but they honestly don't mind waiting for someone like him? :D

#20 "Please forgive me!"

Sebastian knows he has made a grave mistake. It's three o'clock in the morning, he is on his sixth cup of coffee, and his eyes burn from staring at his computer screen for so long in the darkness of the basement.

He just completed a project he has been hunched over for the last month for a company in ZuZu City, fighting the software tooth and nail through it all. It has been his biggest project yet, now completed, but he hasn't left the house for anything other than smoke breaks and proof-of-living checks with Sam.

He can't even remember the last time he checked his phone, but reaching across his desk to grab it, he realizes his grave mistake.

Twelve unread messages from the farmer and five missed calls.

Sebastian jumps from his computer chair and runs to his closet to pull on a set of warmer clothes, mumbling to himself how idiotic his actions have been. He can't even bring himself to open his phone in fear of what the farmer may have said, so he instead pulls on his shoes and leaves the basement as silently as he can so he can run over to the farmer's house.

He can barely see the path as he makes his way over, and his head is buzzing from all the coffee, but he manages his way to the farmer's property just fine. He takes a deep breath before he knocks on their front door, knocking aggressively in hopes to wake them up.

The farmer swings open the front door a few minutes later, their hair sticking up in several directions and their pajamas wrinkled. Their eyes are only opened half of the way but they squint anyway through their blurry morning vision, realizing who is at their door.

"Sebastian? Do you know what time it is?" They asks with a yawn, their reaction being nothing of what Sebastian imagined. No anger, sadness, or excitement. Just their normal voice they always use, as if he had seen them yesterday.

"I..." Sebastian's words are caught in his throat, his brain unable to conjure them into the perfect sentence. Realizing he is running out of time to reply, he opens his arms and pulls the farmer in for a hug, his face burying into their hair. "I'm so sorry for not checking my phone. I was doing this project and I lost track of time and just..." He draws back from the hug, hanging his head in shame. "Please forgive me."

His head snaps forward when he hears a giggle escape the farmer's lips. There is a grin across their face as they reach their hands up to cup either side of his face.

"Everything is fine," they assume him with a smile. "I don't mind waiting for you. I know how important work is to you."

"You aren't upset?" Sebastian asks softly.

"Not at all. I just texted you encouraging cat memes and called a few times to make sure you were alive. Sam told me you were fine so I had no reason to worry."

Sebastian smiles faintly and brings the farmer back in for a hug. "Thank Yoba..." He sighs, his muscles relaxing.

"It's cold out, Seb. Come inside and let's go back to bed. You must be exhausted," the farmer coaxes him and he willingly obliges, happy he has someone like the farmer to look after him when he does something stupid.

Jon is exiled because he slayed his kin(his aunt Daenerys). Meanwhile Tyrion becomes Hand even though he killed his own father and is wanted for regicide (he didn't commit). If this is the ending GRRM wants to go through, don't you think his favouritism towards Tyrion is the reason he(Tyrion) doesn't face any consequences of kinslaying in the narrative yet the other character (Jon) is punished for the same crime ?

That is actually one of the big issues I have with the show ending. It is unfair.... Kinslayers are punished in-universe and even if Tyrion got a pardon by Dany, that should be questioned after her demise. Now, in real life it happens often enough that some people are punished and others aren’t. So you could argue, that this might be what GRRM goes for. Grim dark realism and all that.... Tyrion as a Hand who works for the best of Westeros despite being a villain. You could argue that Tyland Lannister under Aegon III sort of foreshadows Tyrion.

On the other hand this ‘realistic’ take on a ruthless politician that ends up on top does not fit with Bran as King.

I have argued on this blog for quite some time, that I cannot see how you can reach both ends at the same time. Both are possible as the books stand now, I would say, but not in the same universe.

Either magic is important and an all-seeing magic wizard king sits the throne on the end, or politics turn out to be what ulitmately counts, and the ruthless Tywin Lannister 2.0. becomes the most important person in the kingdom after the king.

I don’t think you can have both.

Either you have poetic justice and kinslaying is punished (as Stannis, Ramsay, Robb and several others can attest), or you don’t have poetic justice. Then Jon being punished and Tyrion not being punished goes directly against many of the books plotlines. And that simply does not make sense or I would rather say, that it makes ASOIAF a dissatisfying story, because it’s neither realistic nor rounded storytelling.

I reserve judgement until the books come out. GRRM might find a way how to do it.

do you have thoughts on self diagnosing? I cant go to a psychiatrist right now for personal reasons and also the virus. but I deal a lot with mental health issues and i’m almost positive i’m on the autistic spectrum. I broke down crying when I learned about the symptoms, because everything I struggle with made so much sense. I will go see a doctor when I can but I just can’t right now. sorry if this bothers you.

Hey anon--Im a self dx autistic

If you're not a white boy with a fixation on trains it's extremely hard to get a proper diagnosis as a child. So many adults turn to self dx, due to the severe ableism with autistic people and how fucking hard it is. Heres example a in my state for it

Autism is rarely acknowledged in adults or in people who don't present the way they're supposed to. Professionals learn there's only one way to see symptoms and one way only. Self diagnoses is extremely common even among minors---my father was horribly ableist growing up and would never believe I was an autist because I was simply "quirky" and regarded my behavior as "too normal" (despite when I was openly stimming which he shunned)

So many adults never addressed certain things properly with me growing up. All my symptoms were forceably repressed and shamed against and it took me 17 years to question if I was neurodivergent.

Self dx is vaild. Self dx is very common. Self dx makes up a lot of the community. The sheer relief I had finding out I was autistic was so amazing to me and I wasn't an abnormal neurotypical but a normal autistic person
