Why is Prince Larie so infatuated with Queen Ann, is it because of mere delusion or does he truly begin to love her as she is? And why does he often feel undeserving of her kindness?

Prince Larie didn’t have a childhood of any kind, the only experience worth getting nostalgic over was finding a page from a storybook. If he hadn’t read it, he wouldn’t even know the concept of “good“.His love isn’t fake, but he is convinced she’s the fairy queen from the story; a character withinexhaustiblekindness. He thinks he’s defiling her by just existing, yet refuses to let her go and wants his mythical childhood crush to be his wife. The fairy queen is also described to be a magical being and Ann is to him what God is to others.His upbringing makes it challenging for him to act appropriately and please her all of the time, but he’s never not trying.

Every time I look at this, I think of my grandfather, in particular, on my mothers side (danish). He fell in love with Greenland AND my grandmother. (SWIPE to see my grandparent) . I might have project some of his features onto this character “Aanaa”: Silent, strong, a smoker with so many stories to tell. Which I wish I had asked him more about. My sister and I called our grandfather “måfi” which later on evolved into “morf”. Short versions of “morfar” which is danish for grandpa. . I miss my grandparents... they both passed away some years ago and I still think about them. Sometimes I dream about them.
