It was election season. Which inevitably meant attending events with her parents to help her father win the election. Tonight was no different. Except that a promising rival and their family were making an appearance tonight. She’d been chatting and laughing when her father called to her. Turning around, she saw him beckoning her over to introduce to his rival. The laughter died on her lips as she saw a familiar face standing next to them. Clearing her throat, she made her way over and gave them all a little wave. “Hi.” She purposefully avoided eye contact and simply glanced over at her dad.
