Aaron immediately disliked Trinity. It was not so much her abrasive attitude or endless questions as it was the way she starred at Josh when he wasn’t looking. She’d get a look in her eyes like he was the only interesting in the universe, and Aaron might have been invisible. He was used too girls staring at Josh, but Trinity was different. Aaron knew better than his friend did that Joshua was beautiful in the way spring was beautiful: quietly, unassuming, without trying. His oh so rare green eyes and slightly longer than regulation dark hair made him stand out in the hands of the Academy. Trinity was beautiful in the way a wildfire was beautiful: carefree, imposing, harsh almost. The moon made her pale blond hair almost silver, her brown eyes flashing at some unspoken challenge. When Josh looked at her, he was THERE, in a way Aaron had never seen before. When she touched his shoulder, he smiled brightly. When he would whisper something secret to her, she wrung throw her head back laughing. Aaron knew he was jealous. Jealous that these two find each other, that they made the other shine, that Josh was skipping class to spend time with this gorgeous girl. He just wasn’t sure which one he was more jealous of.
