Ravenclaw: The Reader by Traci Chee, because the passing on of stories and the importance of books and reading are central to the plot

Slytherin: Two Cats by Aaron Kite, which is one of the most slytherin books i’ve ever read— it’s about a city ruled by thief lords who conduct politics by stealing from each other, and one lord in particular who gets roped into a plot-twisty revenge quest with him as the target. (it’s so??? wow. i have issues with it but it’s still wow)

When my father wished to “rough up a page” as he called it, he’d leap upon the very first thing he felt like talking about, moving from that subject to the story he wished to tell. As a child, I didn’t understand the need for the device, watching in boyish fascination as he put words to parchment with his cleverly wrought quill, periodically dipping his free hand into the large bowl of drying sand and scattering the fine mix of granules over the page. I need people to read Aaron Kite's stories in wattpad. Really, so many diverse genres of stories he writes and I've read most if not all. He's really a good writer and, funny story, I read most his stories by mistake. Since they were all so different I didn't notice they were all by him until much later. A very pleasant surprise!
