Holiday Flash Fic Challenge: Day 11
Pairing: Aaron Marquis x Reader
Prompt: “This holiday sucks.”
“This holiday sucks,” you mumbled taking the tiny plastic tree off your desk and shoving it onto Chris’ even though he already had one. You pulled off the garland as well and just tossed that into the trash.
“Ah. So you’re the Scrooge who’s been pulling down the Merry Christmas signs around the office,” Aaron took his seat at the desk next to yours.
“You going to rat me out?” you raised an eyebrow.
Aaron smirked and turned towards you, “Nah. Just wanted to thank you. At least I’m not the only one not feeling the Christmas spirit this year.”
“That’s just because you two are single and hate your families,” Blaine mumbled from his computer.
“What was that?” you leaned over, shooting him a glare.
“Nothing,” Blaine held up his hands before excusing himself.
“Can you teach me how to do that?” Aaron asked as he watched Blaine leave the room.
“Do what?” you asked turning back to your screen.
“Scare people off,” Aaron answered, causing you to laugh, It’d be really useful when I want to get work done.”
“That is a trade secret,” you told him, “But buy me a drink tonight and maybe I’ll share.”
“It’s Christmas Eve, “ Aaron pointed out with a chuckle.
“And you have better plans?” you raised an eyebrow.
Aaron gave an approving nod, “I guess not.”
A few hours later and the two of you were climbing the stairs back up to Aaron’s apartment.
“I mean how is every bar closed on Christmas Eve,” Aaron muttered as he stopped in front of his door.
You shrugged as you waited for him to get out his keys and unlock the door, “You would think that there’s more than just the two of us not celebrating the holiday.”
“Luckily, my liquor cabinet is always open,” Aaron smiled, swinging open his front door and stepping aside to let you in first.
With enough drinks in you, you didn’t care you were at the bar or at Aaron’s place. Actually, Aaron’s place was nice. It was warm. His couch was soft. You were able to scoot closer to him. You were able to freely lean forward and press your lips to Aaron’s.
You hadn’t even realized you were doing it until his hand tangled into your hair as he kissed you back.
“Sorry,” you misled as you pulled away.
Aaron took a moment to open his eyes, “Don’t be. Maybe this holiday doesn’t completely suck.”
“Maybe,” you hummed. “But I might need some more convincing.” You pulled him back against your lips.
