jokes aside, the johnron sex scene was such a chilling play by play walkthrough of what john means when he says 'aaron is perfect'. like aaron is so so so passive through that whole exchange, but with the illusion that he's an equal player. john is so gently goading him to give up more and more. rather than smashing past boundaries (the way rob does when he thinks he's right and which would therefore raise a red flag for aaron who hates that part of their relationship) john just like softly undercuts aaron everytime.
things aaron offered john in that one scene:
expensive home improvements! dream home building (no, i need to know you really want to be with me - i mean he's dream home building??)
leaving his family (not a sacrifice - said to a dingle already insane. said to aaron who has lost so much already? disgusting)
sex (it's a start - where is the end john?????)
and obviously john has the mackenzie conversation playing in his head about this which he can't confront aaron about directly without revealing too much, so there's that. making it even worse imho because it's such a sick test. but also aaron clearly doesn't suspect that anything is wrong here, is used to this dynamic (you're never satisfied).
