Asexual Awareness Week 2019: fandom bingo I1: headcanon demisexual character: Lumikki Andersson from Salla Simukka’s Lumikki trilogy
This is one of those books that I bought bcus someone was like ‘doesn’t this character seem demi to you?’ and based on the quotes shown I was like ‘yes? I need to know more!’ And then I ordered a version with all the books.
And yeah, Lumikki does seem really demi. She has some trust issues bcus of bullying, and emotional issues bcus, well, Finnish family (though she’s also Fennoswede) but she doesn’t experience casual attraction and the attraction and feelings she develops for her two love interests happen after a lot of trust has been build and a strong emotional connection was required for both of them. She very much makes sense as a demi, to me.

Asexual Awareness Week 2019: fandom bingo: I5 Why Does A-Spec Representation Matter? (parts 1 & 2/2)
Hikaru Sulu had always wanted kids. His family was supportive until he told them he was asexual. It was strange, how as soon as he came out the jokes about him "using protection" turned into worrying about him and questioning if he really wanted kids. Adoption would've been his first choice, even if he hadn't been asexual. The day he finally got to bring his daughter home was the happiest of his life (next to the day he married his husband).
