Image by @jim_abernethy // The incredible captivating curious and very friendly Atlantic Spotted Dolphins of the Bahamas are always a joy to interact with! Many referred to these specific groups as the friendliest in the world! I'm not sure what they do during hurricanes however I've heard that roughly 1/3 of them disappear. I hope that means they fled safely but we really don't know! So please make sure that when you pray for our Bahamian Friends...please include the wildlife as well! I'm hoping and praying we see them on our upcoming Hurricane Relief/Tiger Beach trips in October. Contact my office if your interested in joining us! The Exumas, where @theswimmingpigs are from, was not affected by the hurricane at all. They are fine and still would love you to visit them. Now some might not know this, but a small group of Swimming Pigs moved to the wonder islands of the Abaco a few years ago to a little island called No Name Cay. I’m happy to report...THEY SURVIVED THE HURRICANE! Watch the second slide. The Abaco islands and Grand Bahama have a long road of recovery. There is a massive oil spill on the east side of GB coming from the oil refinery. Many Bahamians are in Nassau in shelters and asking the question “what’s next?” I am extremely grateful humbled and thankful to all of you that have given your time money and hurricane relief supplies to our neighbors and friends in the Bahamas in their time of need! Storm Flooding

Hurricane Dorian was a threat to the state of Florida. The intensity of the storm began  on August 24, 2019 and dissipated on September 12, 2019. The winds of 185 mph were the highest on record.

As the water rises through your house you are forced to go into the attic with your family. You see the water rising into the attic and you're forced to cut a hole in the roof so your family can escape the water in the attic, only to be forced into the 185 mile per hour wind gusting to 220 mile per hour wind. I'm sure many were just swept away into the sea and will be listed as missing. Are Bahamian friends and neighbors have just endured the most devastating hurricane the Atlantic ocean has ever seen! I'm hoping that through a huge humanitarian effort we can help our Bahamian friends recover from this devastation as soon as possible! I'm working with Eagle Wing Foundation which has a long history of helping many people through terrible emergencies, including past hurricane relief efforts with the Bahamas.
