Abandoned Laboratory
Heavy doors slid open and cast dim lumen light onto the black chest plate of mark III battle-plate that Tyr adorned. As he stepped in, his machine sight had already pierced through the darker corners. He could see the evidence of battle that lingered here along with the decayed bodies. There was little that could effectively hide from his own gaze and the evidence of a struggle had been clear from the moment the door opened. He had detected particulates in the air that were synonymous with weapons he had faced before though his memory currently failed him. His footsteps were all that the Inquisitor needed to ensure her that he still followed her. Unlike her own mortal steps, his were slow and deliberate and he had watched her run sprinting in a direction he knew not.
Through the use of his own machine-sight, he had been able to keep track of her through the trail of heat she had left in her wake. He knew that she held a talent many within the Imperium were wary of, but it was of no concern to him. Tyr's calling was not one of judgment but rather execution. His heavy steps were the herald of his approach as he turned down yet another corridor. There was a pause in his continuance as his attention had been stolen for a moment. There were other signatures which he could not accurately define and yet there were enough for him to reach for his weapon.
With his ancient Phobos boltgun in hand, he continued his way until he found where the Inquisitor stood. His gaze had already examined the wretched corpses that were locked in cages. There was evidence of Immaterial flames, something that he had been quite familiar with. Her reaction however was subject to a modicum of curiosity that he had indeed indulged in. She was tiny compared to his own black, armored mass. Almost double her height, he stood stepped around her while the hiss of his servo hive filled the air. One of his arms had carried a lumen torch that cast further illumination for the Inquisitor's own sake, revealing various consoles that now lay dormant and inactive.
“There is power here...” He speaks slowly, his voice plainly spoken despite what ever may or may not be lurking. From his armor, several servo skulls emerge and begun to float idly around them which then begun to map out the structure's design. “What is it that you see which I do not, Inquisitor...”
The Iron Hand Astartes loomed over her for a moment more before stepping around her, casting light elsewhere as something had scurried off out of his sight. They were not alone and such had caused him to raise his boltgun in a sweeping arc to track what movement he could. His heavy footing had shifted slightly, bringing him closer towards the Inquisitor, standing in between where the movement had happened and where the smaller mortal stood.
“We are not alone.” He informs the smaller mortal, his voice low and carrying a tone of warning. “We are being watched.”

Gaia's summer and the mystery of the griffin: Adventure among the London laboratories
The unusual heat of that summer enveloped London like a sticky film, sliding over every surface – asphalt, glass, skin. Gaia, twenty-five years old and of Sardinian origins, was crossing the green square of King’s College holding on to her water bottle, almost feeling the liquid transform into tea because of how hot it was. She had moved to the city for an internship in Professor Hawthorne’s…
The illusion of Cartabianca
The sun was slowly setting behind the mountains overlooking Lake Como, wetting the waters of Cernobbio of a dazzling golden reflection. The fresh summer breezes mixed with the scents of a season that was about to end, but in the physics laboratory of the University of Milan, the atmosphere was tense and full of expectations. In a dusty corner of the laboratory, Francesco, a physics technician…
