while their viewpoints do ultimately meet in the end, the order’s rebels have a much more hands-on method of fighting both voldemort and the corruption that his death eaters bring.  largely comprised of younger members, the rebels fully believe that the trappings of a so-called wixen society are inherently unjust and that reform itself is not only impossible but undesirable.  dumbledore’s limit of acceptable violence is long-established, and they’ve grown adept at toeing it - although some of the research and experimentation being performed in the london safehouse may make it impossible for the older members of the order to turn a blind eye for much longer.

despite its (unofficial) name, the old guard isn’t entirely made up of the older members of the order - although a good portion of the original members find themselves here.  they hold fast to the notion that the ministry and wizengamot must be an integral part of their victory and of life after their victory; wixen society must be preserved and all efforts must be made for it to carry on as always when the threat of voldemort and his death eaters are eradicated.

what’s a plot or ship you’ve always wanted to write but never gotten to? oooh hoo okay codependent villains who don't care about each other nearly enough (as far as they're concerned) to do the things they're willing to do for each other + families you choose bc they choose you + look I'm not gonna lie to y'all literally at any time I'm probably thinking about les mis and how I could shoehorn in something inspired by the patron minette ("he could have subdued monsters, instead he found it more expedient to become one" I mean COME ON)
