stinger/max for the ship ask? thx
Who hogs the duvet: Max. Stinger lets him; he gets warm really easily and prefers to sprawl out without a blanket.
Who texts/rings to check how their day is going: Neither of them, really. If something urgent comes up, they’ll call/text the other to let them know, or if one of them is going through a rough patch they’ll check in with each other just to be sure they’re doing alright, but on the average day they prefer to save that stuff for when they can talk face-to-face.
Who’s the most creative when it comes to gifts: Stinger. Being a farm boy with limited money and also a whole slew of siblings to get gifts for, he’s perfected the art of thoughtful, creative gifting.
Who gets up first in the morning: Stinger. He grew up on a farm where getting up early was just how things were done, and he also needs the extra time to get into his hero outfit. Max gets up shortly after, though.
Who suggests new things in bed: Stinger never stops suggesting new things to try in bed…
Who cries at movies: They both do.
Who gives unprompted messages: Stinger. If something pops into his head, he has to share it with someone, and that someone is usually his boyfriend.
How they are when they’re sick: Max, for the most part, handles illness with grace and a stiff upper lip. Stinger flops around the house and carries on like he’s dying over a simple cold.
Who gets jealous easiest: Neither of them are especially jealous people. Max has just seen too much shit for anything to bother him anymore, and Stinger is a firm believer in open and honest communication, so they rarely run into issues like that.
Who collects something unusual: Stinger collects his own merchandise. And collects “adopted” family members. His poor parents don’t even know which of their children they did and didn’t actually give birth to at this point.
Who takes the longest to get ready: Stinger. Have you seen what he wears? Have you seen his hair? It takes a long time for him to make his signature look perfect every morning. (Though, Max’s hair also takes a fair amount of time to get it to do…that.)
Who is the tidiest and organized: Both! They keep their belongings and living spaces very tidy without even needing to nag each other about it. If the occasional mess is made (i.e. them coming home after a long day of work and just throwing their stuff wherever before collapsing in bed), it gets cleaned up as soon as possible. They also tend to have a lot of guests (and “guests”) over, so keeping the place looking nice is important to them.
Who gets most excited about the holidays: Stinger, for sure, though Max edges him out of that spot when it comes to Halloween and Christmas.
Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Max isn’t big on snuggling, but when he’s in the mood for it, he likes to be the big spoon.
Who gets most competitive when playing games and/or sports: They’re both fairly competitive, and they sort of egg each other on once they get going.
Who starts the most arguments: Their arguments are rare, though when they do happen, both parties share some of the blame. Max has a temper and Stinger will double down on his position even if he’s dead wrong, and that’s a combination for trouble under the right circumstances. Thankfully, these squabbles never last for more than a day or so before they talk it out.
What are their nicknames for each other: They cycle through so many of them, but none have really stuck yet.
Who suggests that they buy a pet: Max wants very badly to suggest that, but the kinds of animals Stinger finds cute are completely different from ones he likes. Max wants a dog. Stinger thinks dogs are boring and wants another scorpion instead.
What couple traditions they have: On weekends they sleep in and have a long bath together and a home-made breakfast (assuming an emergency doesn’t come up). When the weather starts getting cold, they’ll each buy the other a nice new scarf, and when it starts to warm up in the spring, they take some time off from hero work to enjoy the weather and shake off their cabin fever. Christmas is spent with just each other–no exceptions–and Valentine’s Day is the same way. Basically, they make time for just the two of them, to make sure the other knows how important they are, even if life keeps them too busy for much privacy.
What tv shows they watch together: A lot of anime (Max prefers sports anime and Stinger likes lighthearted adventure/fantasy ones). Max is also a fan of police procedurals and medical dramas, though Stinger doesn’t really see the point of them. He prefers more comedic stuff.
Another couple they hang out with: The question should be what couples they don’t hang out with. Double dates are in, babey! (Spring Moustachio and Golden Ball are probably the couple they pal around with the most, if only because they get a nice discount at Spring Moustachio’s place.)
How they spend time together as a couple: Doing anything and everything they’d do by themselves or with friends. They’re busy people and it’s tiring trying to find special couple things to do all the time, so they just…do normal things, only together.
Who made the first move: Stinger. He actually made, like, the first two dozen moves, but Max was so busy being oblivious and surly that it didn’t sink in for at least a month.
Who brings flowers home: Neither of them are flower people. They tend to surprise each other with either sweets (Stinger prefers chocolates and Max is partial to pastries) or with high-quality meats to make for dinner.
Who is the best cook: They’re about equal in terms of cooking skill, though Stinger is better with more traditional dishes. Given his area of patrol, Stinger often comes home with fish and fresh produce given to him by the vendors of City J farmer’s market, so they cook their own dinners most nights. It’s given them a lot of practice in the kitchen.
Who snores: Stinger. Loudly. So, so loudly. (Though, Max is guilty as well when he’s really tired.)
