Favorite musicians/bands of almost all characters from Cityverse:
Detective: would say Ray Charles or Frank Sinatra because it's the ones he knows the names of, would love the shit out of Tom Waits but he would never find out who that is unless Robert shows it to him
Robert: got assigned Shygirl fan by a friend of mine and she's the second biggest Robert truther after me so I believe him
Jeanette: Etta James
El Lechero: Freddie Mercury, what did you expect
Abbadon: does not listen to any music outside of the song of birds in the morning
So, I updated some character info (mostly fluff stuff for Abbadon) read it if you’d like :D
Abbadon: A relatively average build, Abbadon uses a form of magic called Biomancy.
History: formerly a rather potent demon-alien hybrid abomination, Abbadon was “born” in the far distant future of the 41st millennium. initially born a member of the eternally hungry Tyranid species, he was brought into the universe one of their warrior caste. which were conduits for their hive minds will, and served a multi-purpose combat role. then on one fateful day a band of Chaos cultists that his birth-fleet had been combating for control of a planets resources, they had miraculously managed to capture him alive, though at the time he bore little sentience of his own. after a many day ceremony to sacrifice him to their patron deity Khorn, the blood god, their wish for a greater daemon had been met…though not as they expected. rather than the daemon possessing the body of the warrior, the combined psychic phenomena resulting from both Hive mind and warp monstrosity caused a gap in his mind, a sort of no-mans-land as each side fought for control over him. this ensuing mental trauma gave his own consciousness to be birthed…though only after roughly five-hundred years of back-and-forth fighting between two sides.
Bearing little recollection of those early years (so he says) he spent most of his new-found life jumping from battlefield to battlefield, utilizing both sides of his powers to tilt the balance of those conflicts however he deemed fit. from his progenitor side was a complex adaptive genetic code, that after several decades of him manipulating both raw warp energy and powerful psychic powers, grew nearly invincible to the potent detrimental effects of both skill sets. effects that would ordinarily send an individual screaming into the aether for all eternity merely allow him to tap into the nigh immeasurable energies of that demonic plane. and as a bonus, he learned to convert this raw energy into raw organic matter, which in turn allowed him to further augment himself physically. allowing him to take on some of his birth-families more monstrous biomorphs.
with his new-found biological adaptation capabilities and warp immunity, he took on the role of a…referee of sorts, jumping from war to war deciding who would win and who would lose on a whim. after several millennia of this, he grew bored of the conflicts, and opted to change his profession from referee to planeswalker, jumping from universe to universe, breaking though to become a transdimensional being of sorts, and, while this is one of the few abilities he maintains as things stand, as well as his knack for messing with genetic codes, he felt as if he was missing something…humanity. at the moment he was, for all intents and purposes, immortal. nothing could kill him, not even himself. and even if he was to drop himself onto a battlefield with nothing more than his bare hands, his centuries of battle experience would carry him till, well the end of the conflict. and if that wouldn’t, then his incredible healing ability would. though his life he had tanked everything the twelve or so feuding armies had thrown at him, from solid slug rounds to being literally turned to dust, to the largest weapon forged by the human species short of the Mars…and even the Mars at one point…
so, after a mild amount of deliberation within himself, he decided to shed his immortal body (leaving it in the transdimensional space should he ever need the power it possesses) and become human.
Biomancy: the art of creating living entities from nothing more than simple fleshy mass and raw energy, and manipulating previously existing biomass whilst on the host, some creatures created this way evolve of their own volition, accelerating their strengths and resistances to near supernatural levels. Th only drawback is he can only summon creatures he’s defeated and collected samples of.
Demon shard: Despite having lost roughly 97% of his former power, he retains a small shard of it within a necklace of quartz crystals. however this only results in the crystals glowing when exposed to moonlight rather than giving him access to his powers. though in exceedingly rare circumstances, he can call upon his former body, which possesses all his shed powers, to defeat threats to himself or his loved ones. however this is very much like a drug to him, and after using and separating from his former powers, he goes through a cycle of: intense physical weakness (not unlike having a severe case of the Flu, or another similar disease) and depression, whereby he becomes mostly inconsolable for an indeterminate amount of time, though it averages out to be about a week at the maximum.
Relationship info: Abbadon is generally a free-spirited person. And with the loss of his various healing abilities, has a new-found respect for the little things in life. For him, someone who’s willing to roll with life and what it brings is much more appealing than someone who’s very down-to-earth. Not to say he doesn’t enjoy the company of calmer people. However should someone be a balance of the two he will be incredibly devoted to them and be as open as he can with them on who he is and what he was.
