Appreciation for certain celebrities or public figures is something that you visually stumble upon very frequently in the streets of Cairo. Especially by dedicating a cafe's or shops' name to that person. This is a photo taken at Abbaseya for a Cafe' that is famous by the name "Hassan Al Asmar Cafe'” التقدير للشخصيات العامة او المشهورة حاجة بتبان بشكل كبير في شوارع القاهرة. وشكل منها هي تكريس قهاوي او محلات خصيصاً للشخصية دي. دي صورة اتاخدت في العباسية لقهوة مشهورة بإسم "قهوة حسن الأسمر"

From a friend in Cairo: "I kept this picture as a cover for a long time, the symbolism of what this sister in the picture came to represent and the events that happened around that time exactly a year ago helped in re-shaping my experience in post #Jan25 Egypt. Abbaseya massacre that took place in my hometown and where I live currently was a transitional event for me, many of my friends, and family members as well. It taught me a lot about the hypocritical world of activism and media in Egypt and the world and how that can lead to people losing their lives.
