Abbe flap repair This young girl was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate deformity for which she had undergone surgical repair. She now has a collapsed columella and a shortened prolabium that has led to a whistling deformity due to the notching deformity in her upper lip. She underwent a prolabium flap repositioning to reconstruct the shortened columella. An Abbe flap reconstruction of the residual prolabium defect was then performed. The lower lip flap was detached in three weeks after establishment of collateral vascular supply to the upper lip flap. This resulted in complete correction of her deformities. Her entire facial appearance was transformed by her surgery.
