Yeah, I was kinda disappointed that Hans (and Abby) didn't get explored as much as the other characters in the trilogy. After watching Shed 17 and Project G-1 for the first time, I was left craving to learn more about Thomas' parents, cause we were (and are) basically left with crumbs.

We don't really know much about their personalities or their dynamics with other characters.

Silly little headcanon of mine is that Gordon became a father figure or a big brother to Thomas (since it's canon that his parents abandoned him after he was biofused).

Full Background:

Abby grew up with unimpressive childhood and teenage years, focusing studiously with her books and little else. After graduating college with a degree in Communications, she took on several internships before finding the FBI booth at a job fair. She was young, still figuring out her purpose in life, and took the pamphlet they handed out to her. What were the chances someone could actually get a job at the FBI, and from one of their cheap booths at a fair?

The chances were in her favor, and Abby spent 14 years in the service of the FBI, first as an analyst before working her way into management positions. Almost two years after the Department of Homeland Security was formed, Abby acted as a liaison in a large anti-terrorist operation, before ultimately being offered a position at Homeland Security instead. She accepted, seeing it as a great promotion, and didn’t look back.

By the time Abby met Nathan Petrelli and learned of Building 26, she was one of a dozen that acted as a liaison between the White House and Homeland Security. She was highly skeptical of Nathan’s insistence regarding people with abilities, and the inhumane practices necessary to contain them. However, watching Tracy Strauss kill a man in front of her eyes left Abby feeling deeply disturbed. She sent word to the President about her support, and Nathan received his funding.

Abby was not surprised when Building 26 was exposed and fell apart, but she was worried about what that meant for all those Specials running around unchecked in the world. After the reveal, Abby, because of her experiences with Building 26, was made part of a government division within DHS that kept track of Specials. At first, all they did was monitor and track, making sure that if any Specials did hurt people that they were held accountable.

However, after the death of Alan Shelby, Abby was strongly in favor of the Evolved Human Registration Act becoming mandatory. Her team was the one that suggested using trackers and helps enforce them. Although Abby is against the idea of war, she so strongly believes that Evo’s should be under control that she puts her feelings aside and helps to fight against them.
