The streets of Bluebrook are riddled with many rumors about Hayden Masters, the one who has assumed ownership of them. They say he is a dishonest man, a criminal usurper who kills the ones that oppose him. They whisper that he was born and bred in a shroud of darkness, growing in the shadow of corruption and horror until he became a shadow himself. Many say that he is a piece of hell confined within skin and bone, very fitting for the nickname given to him over the years -- Hades. After all, he does rule an Underworld of his own making, but his involvement in such matters is always regarded with tight-lipped secrecy. But due to the plethora of slander revolving about him, any truth about his person is almost completely unknown, making him a walking mystery swaddled in the growing essence of an enigma.
It is hard to understand exactly he rose to power. That is a story he has never shared with anyone, or those who may know must lack the tongue to speak the truth. He was born as Hayden Masters – the only relic that remained of his life before adoption. However, being born of the slob mother and the uncaring father who beat her to death before he turned two, he never knew nor cared about his exact origins. As far as he was concerned, his life began when he was given to a moderately wealthy family of business moguls, the Allister family. Due to them, he never found much opposition the ambition he fostered throughout his adolescent years. In fact, the members of his household encouraged it. Happily, he inherited the small successes of his adopted parents’ jewelry company and built a lasting empire of wealth. And from that point on, he was a frontrunner for Forbes, and Aristi, his jewelry company, was a brand name that paired effortlessly in material fame with the likes of Versace and Alexander McQueen.
But getting to that point wasn’t easy. Hayden had to find other ways to insure steady income for his company before reaching such material fame. From birth, he was touched with the essence of corruption, and to it he returned. First, he employed part time workers who fronted as jewelry salesmen, but carried around stashes of drugs to sell as well. Soon he dipped his influence in a series of other illegal activities, even including hired murder, so as to ensure the silence of those who dared to speak against him. He used the street name “Hades”, and he’s kept it, knowing that nothing is ever truly beneath him. If he were to know hell and fame, he’d at least be the king of both.
Though he’s now famed for his work as the CEO of Aristi, Hayden still keeps up with his Bluebrook origins and continues to be the center of most crime that occurs there. However, ever since the freak event that sparked this ‘magic’ craze in the town, he’s been ill at ease not knowing how to utilize it or gain the abilities that everyone else has. He fears that this might be the one thing which will bring him down, and he is determined not to let that ever come to play.
Phoebe Creon → His right hand man -- or woman, in this case. She oversees many imperative aspects of Aristi, and can be as cold and calculated as he is. Phoebe is the one person that he can trust completely, but unfortunately she is often blamed for quite a few of the misfortunes that occur in his public and private affairs, even if she is not directly involved in them.
Violet Hollis → Hayden’s main supplier of illegal contraband. Violet has influence in the crime scene as well, but she was never as crafty as Hayden. On one occasion, he managed to clear her name of soliciting prostitution through her club, Body Language, and ever since then, she has been indebted to him. However, despite their opposing demeanors, the two of them have become friends -- but even calling it that would be pushing it.
Morgan Pooley & William Bates → Ever since the mysterious murder of one of his main dealers -- Christopher something or other -- Hayden has had a small suspicion that someone has been out to get him. After all, he’s managed to build something of a reputation. He does not know that Morgan and William are the main source of opposition, but ever since he ordered for the loud-mouthed politician, Vernon Pooley, to be killed, the prospect of his daughter seeking revenge would come as no surprise to Hayden.
Every member from Hayden Masters to the lowliest pawn wears an inconspicuous skull shaped necklace. Most citizens don’t know about this unless they’ve been in direct contact with a member of the drug ring in a context that would require the necklace being shown.
