Omg you watched conviction? How was that? Was it cringe? lol

I did! I watched it when it was airing because I was fresh from the Agent Carter cancellation and really wanted to keep seeing Hayley Atwell on my screen. I actually don't mind a commercial procedural too – I think because they're pretty constraining creatively that when they're done well, they're often really smart, innovative with narrative structure and expectations, and character-driven i.e. Elementary, House MD, The Good Wife.

Conviction was...none of those things, hahaha. I watched the whole series (well, season), and I don't think it was outright bad exactly, but it felt pretty half-baked and underdeveloped, and none of the characters were compelling enough to carry the ensemble. It was disappointing, because there was a bit of talent there who I think could've done more with better material.

Hilariously, when I started Good Girls two years later, I didn't even realise it was the same actor playing Rio, haha. I'm not sure if that's just because the role was that different or if the show was just that forgettable, haha.
