K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
In Haikyuu!! that’s definitely Tsukishima! I really love him as a character, and I love how he grows and changes throughout the series. I liked him initially (I’m an asshole just like he is), and to just see him grow into such an amazing character? I bawled my eyes out when he had his moment. No regrets.
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
I’ve been listening to this repeatedly (thanks @amalasdraws) and holy fuck it’s Iwaizumi in the Drug AU? I just... I just can’t even, I need to write more for that AU and write the drabble this song is inspiring!
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
HAHA you have come to the right person!! I’m an AU addict fan and have been known to write too many a few... Including a ton that I’ve never posted? Oops. So I’ll talk a little here about an AU I’ve always wanted to do - a Mass Effect AU! (For anyone who isn’t familiar with Mass Effect, it’s a science fiction video game series, so. Space. Wars. Lots of fights. Aliens. Good shit!)
A pudgy seven-year-old Oikawa points to the sky, announcing that he wants to grow up and see the galaxy for himself.
At twenty-eight, he’s seeing it; through the scope of a rifle.
The premise is essentially, Oikawa as a child was always fascinated with space, space travel, and the other life forms in the galaxy. He grew up reading about them, watching on television, wanting to know more - so as soon as he gets the opportunity, he enlists as a marine in order to get out of his dead-end life that he doesn’t want.
He’s smart, and works his way up the ranks of the Alliance Military efficiently. He learns new skills with ease. He ends up being a pretty wicked shot - he is outfitted for more high-profile missions quickly due to his skills. He moves through it all, telling himself that it’s what he needs to do to get out. Eventually, after some shit happens, he gets assigned to an Alliance ship, where he can finally start doing what it is he set out to do.
Cue the start of the fic, probably. Oikawa and his team move through different missions (not sure which of the games this story would follow, if any - part of what’s kept me from developing this for). His team consists of (wait for it) Iwaizumi, of course, another alliance marine, although he has more on-the-ground experience than Oikawa, and a cast of my favourites as background characters - Bokuto (Adept, probably, so he basically has telekinesis and overuses melee combat), Kuroo (an engineer, try and tell me he isn’t a brilliant little nerd), Daichi (I was thinking he’s an infiltrator, so he is good in a fire fight but focuses much on disabling enemies), Terushima... alright so I doubt I’ll ever really get around to fleshing this out much as my only friends who are huge into ME aren’t big into HQ but I REALLY LOVE THIS AU!
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)
Iwaizumi is incredibly cuddly. He and Oikawa are always touching in some sort of way; often times it’s very casual, hand-holding, Iwaizumi’s hand on Oikawa’s thigh, Oikawa’s arm around Iwaizumi’s waist, Iwaizumi’s hand buried in his hair. When they’re home, they curl up in the most impossible of ways together on the couch or on bed. They sleep snuggled up together and it’s hard for them to get to sleep if they’re separated.
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
Iwaizumi is just as big a nerd as Oikawa is. Those two spend their dates going to museums, science centers, aquariums, planetariums, anywhere that they can go and just geek out. They’re in line at six in the morning for new exhibits, camping out in the middle of the night for new games and movies, and spend weekends cuddling in bed reading. They’re nerds.
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
Iwaizumi Hajime (HQ!!) - I think that this one goes without saying - it’s probably fairly obvious by how much I write him lol, but I really love his character. He’s strong, and smart - he knows the team, he knows Oikawa, he can see the opponent for what they are. He’s reliable, always coming in when he is needed (”Do what we usually do... Let me take this challenge.”) He’s supportive to everyone on the team, always works hard - there’s a reason that the team looks up to him and respects him so much! He is just the pinnacle of everything I love in a character. :D
Aomine Daiki (KNB) - Aomine has such a hard back story and he really, really, grows as a character. He overcomes a lot, and no, he’s not perfect. He isn’t even, in the end of it all - but that’s kind of what I enjoy about his character. He comes to such strong realizations, he’s put into his place, and he doesn’t give up. I won’t go in too much more detail in case you haven’t seen this one yet!!
Nara Shikamaru (Naruto) - I’ve loved Shikaramu basically since I started watching Naruto forever ago!! He’s lazy, but he’s brilliant, and really comes in when he’s needed in later arcs. I just afjkldfakjfdlkfjdalf I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! He’s always thinking two steps ahead and is so supportive of his friends.
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
Childhood friends to lovers. This is so easy haha, this is easily my favourite trope and I have yet to find a ship that I don’t enjoy this with!
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)
I love Terushima, okay? He’s smart and funny and a hard worker, can we not reduce him to one thing he did once that other characters do all the time and get away with? Okay? Okay. (Sorry this is not much of a ramble LOL I am tired and couldn’t think of more Words)
