Woah okay so I finally watched the s3 finale of humans
So first of all I'm kind of shocked (but not too surprised) at how some people in this fandom are taking it. I thought the finale was really good and powerful. Yes I'm very sad to see Mia gone (I did cry quite a bit I'll miss her) but it was obvious that that's where things were going and she's always been that kind of character who would turn into a martyr. I don't think they were trying to send out any message on what oppressed groups should do, I feel like that's reading into things a bit too much, it seems like they were just drawing on things that have happened historically and wanted to go with that storyline which seems fair (although fair enough if people are annoyed because they're tired of that narrative).
I am really hoping niska is still niska just with the addition of seeing what V sees and having the same amount of power (eg. controlling the orange eye) but damn dude that was a low blow not to give us a reunion of her and Astrid! Like shit, are they gonna stay together or is niska god-like now?! Idk I hope the former, nistrid is one of the few happy nice things this shows got going for itself.
Right. Now. Mattie, Leo and this baby. We'll shit. I mean we been knew this baby was gonna be the chosen one and whatnot but I don't really like the fact that mattie wasn't intending on keeping it and now she has to cause Wise!Niska says so. They could have made it that she was still on the fence and now she's like yeah okay. Also can we just highlight how brilliant it is that this show isn't really big on near perfect male main characters so obvs the baby is gonna be a girl! Also omg Leo with Sam being a good father figure was so precious! He'll be such a mess of a dad but they'll have help. It'll all be fiiine
Oosh so all agreed Laura is being released by Wise!Niska overriding systems and she'll be completely fine and at the Hawkins home in no time? Yep? Great! Btw Sophie is gonna need therapy jesus I felt so bad her seeing Mia get hit.
I'm feeling like Vodi has a bit of an edge that Idk if I trust. Like Idk I'm just gonna keep an eye on them if/when we get a series 4.
Oh Sam. Sweet dear Sam. Everyone has fucked up Sam so bad he's staying in the fucking compound with Stanley! (also fucked up). They seem so lost so they're just trynna ignore everything and play and it's pretty sad. Go back to Joe, you silly boy!
So yeah that's me on everyone where we left them. I really enjoyed the finale and really hope we get a next season to see where things go with the future of synths and the baby n whatnot
