Precision and verse do open the door
to feelings so tight, to feelings contained.
To the place where I stumble, mine own lustful desires.
Trauma and time, my mind locked and chained.
With deliberate elegance will I be a whore

The 5 Most Hipster Things About Our Apartment
We aren't you average group of girls, so it's no surprise that are apartment isn't very average either. It is full of normal things, quirky things, old things, things that make you say "whaaaaat?", and, as you will soon learn, Hipster things.
1. Mason Jars…Everywhere
Because you can't spell hipster without B-A-L-L.
We use Mason jars as drinking cups, measuring cups, a Q-tip holder. You name it, we use mason jars for it.
Yes, that's hand soap in a mason jar.
Which leads me to my next point:
2. Nothing Is In Its Original Container
We liked this vegetable oil back when everyone thought it was Izze soda.
3. This Christmas Tree
We're not conforming to your capitalistic ways and spending money on nature.
4. You Can Write On Every Possible Surface
Everyone writes on paper. We write on:
The Fridge
The Counter
Containers and Cups
The Walls
Even the food
5. This Typewriter
Can't do computers. Too mainstream
Bonus Item:
A full tea set

Come watch, like, and support! I had the chance to join a lovely group called Alpha Premier for the ABCBA Chorus Battle. They sang Scythe Weasel for round 1 and I'm hoping we pass to the second round. http://youtu.be/QC45ufsY0ik

With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility...and Terror
Today I'm here to tell you about something that seems easy and harmless that you've probably done many times in your life but is actually pretty terrifying once you have to do it for yourself.
You've helped your mom find all the items on your family's long lists. You've gone in with friends to get a bag a few snacks and sodas. you've gone by yourself that one time when the house ran out of milk. But never have you ever had to do it ALL by yourself! Yes, that's right, I'm talking about grocery shopping!
We had a few days in the apartment before the fridge got there and as soon as it arrived we were eager to fill the kitchen with some food.
Alexis and I did the honors of making the first trip to the grocery store to stock the fridge. Once in the store and armed with a cart and some cash, we realized how terrifying the situation was.
For the first time in our lives we were given the money to buy whatever we wanted to. There wouldn't be any parents to make sure we ate right or a dining hall staff to limit what we could eat. For the first time we had to make the responsible decision to eat right and not spend all of our money in the process.
Luckily our parents raised us with good values and we filled our cart with healthy choices. But shopping responsibly wasn't our only problem. We realized that we literally had to start from scratch with our kitchen.
We had no spices, no condiments, no anything! We couldn't just make spaghetti (which was our first meal), we had to buy the oil to cook the meat, the spices to season the meat, and the hot sauce to put on it afterwards (don't judge me; everything is better with hot sauce).
After all of the shopping and struggling to make the right choices we had to deal with the terror at the register. Normally we just fill the carts and our parents pay for everything. We didn't even think to keep track of how much stuff we were buying.
It seemed like the longest check out process ever as we held our breath, hoping that the total would come out to be less than the $80 we were both carrying.
Of course it all worked out in the end and we enjoyed our first meal in our apartment while having a Psych marathon. Because Psych is awesome.

This song is called 'Common Conversation.' I wrote it for Uni where the structure had to be mirroring. So it follows an 'ABCBA' form. I found it difficult to make mirroring structures work and this is what I ended up with.
For the melody and chords I channeled Korean ballads. I did this because they are usually so predictable and formulaic that I thought it'd be a nice juxtaposition to the unusual structure I have going on. The song is about moving on in an introspectively reflecting way... I think.
