I love my stupid little sweetie.
Some session arts of Park today. He did a lot of sitting and pacing and a moment of ohhh God fuck.
Park, but as a hobbit. :]
Some sketches from tonight. All Jin except the one Simone and Park. Love playing with expressions and poses with Jin cos she's so funky.
Something I love about my character Park is that he never had to go into medicine. In fact, he is actively more calm and has a generally more uplifted disposition when he _isnt_ practicing medicine. It's just also one of his life goals to try and better other peoples lives, and medicine was a route for that he was handfisted into him either by the world around him or the innate abilities he was born with. It never had to be medicine, he just happens to be REALLY GOOD at medicine, and at healing. A little like he's really good at fighting once he learns out to be good at fighting. The key thing is that he clearly, CLEARLY is good at a plethora of other things that benefit the lives of others: he loves and takes great pride in creating and hosting events that make others happy (or in the case of funerals, peaceful if not sad). He values having the patience and care and commitment to tending to gardens and plants. He likes partaking in others interests, he loves learning about others and being there for them. He loves loving people. He has all these things backlogged behind a mountain of "I'm a healer, that's what I am" and sometimes he struggles to see himself as anything but that. Like, to the point of dehumanizing himself. No, medicine is not who he is. Park is devotion, he yearns to be there for others in a way no one was for him, and at times no one currently is there for him. He wants to help them feel happy, help them feel better, help anyone just feel a bit more alive. Medicine, at this point, is just a phenomenally easy way for him to get there. Not only an easy way for him (now) to do so, but at times a very impersonal way. A way that avoids a lot of relationship building. A way that allowed him to keep a distance from the people he helps and remain as a figure he'd like to be perceived; kind, generous, with little problems of his own. A kindhearted doctor, who swears your good health is payment alone. He's not just medicine. Medicine just became who he is because it was the first thing to select. It was the easiest - and by God does Park generally want the easiest way out.
Wip of the thought of Park (who hates the idea of being noterized/known beyond his time) with a statue in his honor, just one, surrounded by free gardens in the yard of some type of for-the-people respite and healing house. Maybe one statue would not be so bad, then, if only there.
Jin and his son Hollis for Christmas morning... and Park working ER Christmas night/Morning after Christmas... vibes are definatly different.
