I heard that love is a risk worth taking
I'll get you touching on your body.
The Weeknd.
I can't really begin to express my emotion when I listen to Abel Tesafaye. It's like I've lived through his lyrics all along & I'm just now finding out. I don't think I've ever been so moved & saddened by an artist. He story tells. He's a poet. He's a talented singer with a creative twisted mind. He's the sorrow & sould of the prostitute, the addict, the lonely broken heart, the lost, the hardened heart, & the heart breaker. He makes you feel all the emotion with his melancholy tones & heartbreaking stories. He's the emotion for the emotionless. He's the face of those without faces. He's an artist. His lyrics literally paint my soul & wrap me in it's despair & breathes hope into my deparation. His lyrics inspire me to run. "My only Motive is to scare you, I have no other motives" were his words he tweeted once on twitter. To just a random person who will not dig deeper, this is taken actually as it is read. Anyone who has truly listened to him knows, just how deep of a poet he truly is. To me, he doesn't glorify meaningless sex, drugs or cheating. He simply tells exactly how he feels & what happens. Listening to him should not influence any of the negative topics he sings about. It should "scare" you. Scare you away from ever falling into the traps he sings about. People find his music romantic. His voice is romantic, & the way he bluntly cusses & says things is definitely very sensual. I think he's incredibly sensual. But most of his music is not particularly romantic, it is deep, sad, poetic, informative, & expressive. When I listen to Abel, I eneter another world. Where I feel happy yet sad at the same time. A world I'm too afraid to leave. A world where I feel safe, from this world. I can not fully put into grips what his music has done for me. I can not fully grasp what the future holds, because the future is unknown & nonexistent. I can only speak about right now in this very moment I am overwhelmed by the sheer poetic genius & talent by such a phenomenal artist. XO til I overdose.
