i'm a huge, huge fan of dysfunctional relationships - ones where each party is kind of fucked up, but in a way that complements the other partner/s, i guess? though i'm also a slut for hurt/comfort ahah. that's kind of what makes me care about a ship, too, along with caring about the particular individuals within it. re: the Ideal Love Interest - i really think that depends on the main character. although i do have an enormous weakness for shyness disguised as arrogance.
