                ‘   —    that’s a lot to place onto the shoulders of one girl.  the weight of a nation. ’         it’s quiet , thoughtful , mildly sympathetic tones that roll off her tongue. they all have something to carry.  she , held down by rushing floods and dripping blood. sightless eyes staring, accusing from the skull that sits at her feet.  a shudder quakes her spine, long fingers curling into oversized sleeves.       ‘   —   i thought all she wanted was to save her sister.  ’      /   @abernqthy

                               “     do     you     hear     what     you’re     saying     ,     Haymitch?     ‘cause     it     seems     to     me     you’ve     gotten     used     to     talking     out     of     your     ass.     ”

                        Perhaps     not     the     best     idea     to     start     a     fight     with     someone     she     needs     as     an     ally     –     needs.     She’ll     deny     it     to     the     very     day     of     her     death,     but     the     bitter     truth     of     the     matter     is,     if     they     want     for     this     to     work     out,     they     need     to     stick     together.     Johanna     has     never     been     one     to     favor     teamwork,     and     it     shows,     especially     catering     to     one     single     person     like     they’re     the   center     of     the     whole     rebellion     –     it     doesn’t     sit     well     with     her.     Furthermore,     the     girl     from     12,     that     kid     who     barely     knows     what     she’s     getting     into?     Johanna     knows     for     sure     she’s     not     their     savior.     Hell,     she     could     barely     save     herself     and     her     baker     Romeo.

                    She     has     no     trouble     letting     Haymitch     know,     because    if     they’re     going     to     do     this,     do     it     to     the     very     end,     she     won’t     keep     quiet     –     it’s     not     in     her     nature.     That’s     the     reason     why     there’s     nobody     home     for     her     to     return     to,     and     by     now,     she’s     not     going     to     stop     speaking     her     mind.     Because     they’re     all     going     to     fucking   die,     either     ways.

               “     you’re     seriously     asking     me     to     trust     two     kids     from     12     who     have     no     fucking     idea     what     they’re     getting     into?     ”     raise     her     voice,     scoff     of     anger     mixed     with     disbelief     –     they     were     all     kids     once,     she     knows     this.     They     aren’t     really     kids     anymore     once     they     step     into     the     arena,     and     if     they     get     out?     They     aren’t     even     human.     But     that’s     beside     the     point,     “     what     the     fuck?     the     whole     ‘symbol     of     the     rebellion’     bullshit     is     not     gonna     work.     It’s     only     gonna     get     that     girl     killed     –     and     trust     me,     I     don’t     give     a     fuck     about     her,     but     I     thought     you     did.     ”

          UNUSUALLY  TENSE   /   BROW  FURROWED.   designs  nestle  within  sketchbook  that’s  tightly  clasped  to  chest  lest  secrets  spill  forth,  resolve  encumbered  by  the  innate  fear  that  sits,  gnawing  on  stomach’s  insides.   this  was  his  first  outward  act  of  rebellion  &  he  can’t  help  but  doubt,  worry  not  for  own  safety  but  for  that  of  family. 

                                            but  it  had  to  be  done.   it  must.
