Thinking about the party at the NATA rv day zero of the Weekender. There would be super chill moments and then they’d drop a favorite and everyone would go nuts. Those beautiful moments when everyone was singing to Higher Love and Only Road. It’s one thing when it’s on massive scale at a concert but there’s a special beauty when it’s just a small collection of folks at some unofficial gathering. And the serendipity of people just wandering on through like it was a little hidden treasure.

Elena Brower’s guided meditation was everything I didn’t know that I needed this past weekend. I think I cried out almost all the negative energy in my system during those ~15 minutes. I knew going to the Weekender would lighten and uplift my soul but this was something else. I’ll never forget the audible, collective breath across the crowd when she said “take one deep breath” the first time.

If anyone has been trying meditation and finding it not easy to silence your mind for even just a couple minutes, I recommend giving her spoken word piece in Above & Beyond’s Flow State a listen.
