It was times like these he had the most fun. It was always supposed to be an in and out job. Go in, kill, return. Even if he couldn't disobey his father he did have his own way of rebelling against those grown-ups in Heaven, and this was it.
He had escaped returning home, and instead found himself wandering the lower world with a hint of excitement. His mind already working to flesh out the current adventure. He was a criminal, on the run from the law. If he was caught, he'd surely be put on a fake trial, and sentenced to death! He had cover his tracks and go into hiding.
It was a clichéd idea, but it would work for now... Or not...
Hands ran over the back of his neck as eyes scanned the almost deserted scenery. He finally saw something that caught his attention. A flock of birds? What were they doing out here? The child approached quickly with curiosity. The closer he got, the more obvious it became as to the type of birds they were. Then... the vultures must have been having some kind of meal. Suddenly the speed of his approach slowed so he didn't scare them off.
That's when he noticed the strangest part of it all. There seemed to be a man mixed in with the birds. Brows lifted in confusion. "Hey, mister, you know you're not a bird, right?" He called out wondering if the stranger was one of the youkai that had gone insane.
"Ukoku, my friend? Can I ask you something personal? You always seem shoulder free of the burden that life often inflicts people with. It's a welcoming sight honestly! But I'm curious how you accomplished that."
"Bodhisattvas who practice the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore see no more obstacles in their mind, and because there are no more obstacles in their mind, they can overcome all fear, destroy all wrong perceptions and realize Perfect Nirvana." Lips curled into a grin as he recited the words from his memory.
"Simply put, as the Heart Sutra says, it's because I discovered emptiness~" The words came out as though he sounded enlightened. There was no way he was just going to say 'it's simply because I don't care', that was the boring answer.
abirdandaman replied to your post “If it's alright for me to ask such a personal question.. Y-You don't...”
"I was just curious is all. I-I should say, it's rather a pleasant sight instead. You see.. I'm the only one left here. Seems the others like us. Have lost themselves."
“Yes... Most youkais in Shangri-la have gone crazy; going berserk because of a minus wave. Luckily I’m stable because of my limiters, and I have to admit. It is nice to see someone like you that isn’t affected.” He says, smiling at the other.
