In this IF are there gonna be elements of "fated mates", like in some A/B/O media?
No, I don't think so. At least not in the way that it's usually portrayed. I would say that it'd be more of a "pheromone compatibility/preference" type of thing. For example, it'd be similar to how people like the smell of some things and dislike the smell of others.
Whether the pheromone compatibility/preference will be called "fated mates" in this IF is something I'm still debating. But I would say no for now.
TW: slight spice - like a 🍋🟩 or 🍋 on the citrus scale. Use of the C word. Also, talk of gender dysphoria for ABO

You guys think Manny can taste ectoplasm when he eats Danny out? Like, your cum can taste different based on what you eat, right - like if guys eat pineapple a lot, it’s supposed to be a little sweet?
So when he gives his Vida head and Danny has been on an organic/ectoplasmic opportunistic omnivore for a few years now, would it make his cum taste off? Spicy? Sweet; tangy and a hint of mint?
Since ectoplasm isn’t really discussed in canon, the scent and taste could be anything and as unique as the ghost it’s formed from. And I think Danny’s would be cool, like his ice core, with a mild sweetness. Not too overpowering, but subtle, like warmth in hyperthermia.
And that makes me think, would Manny start to get a hunger for ectoplasm himself, if he eats out Danny’s pussy a lot? Would the Ancient Tiger spirit decide it needs it again and makes its vessel seek it out in small quantities like this?
Because what if due to him being fully human, eating a regular concentration of ectoplasm could be fatal, so a diluted dose would bring up his tolerance slowly. So I imagine it’ll take years of giving the other oral, before he theoretically could get small amounts of pure ectoplasm no problem.
His favorite source would still be fromDanny’s cunt, of course. 🥰

And then there’s my abo Skeletonkeyboard one, where a BOm (Beta Omega dominate gene) does produce slick, but it’s not at the same quantity as an OOm or OAp and it can take longer to get them sufficiently prepared for sex.
Tucker is a late bloomer - literally a month late from the 26 year threshold - and because of it, his new OBGYN warned that he might even produce almost next to none. And he was completely fine with that - the knowledge that now his once assumed barren uterus and inner reproductive system was not only active, it also crushed his dreams of the surgery to finally have one set of reproductive organs.
Betas that are born as intersex with dual reproductive systems are not allowed to get sex surgery until after the presentation age limit and they do not present. Even after presenting, some still get the surgery performed, due to gender disphoria at the sudden shift in their bodies and family and friend dynamics.
But he can’t, due to the fact the Presentation came through a high stress situation and that his body is having issues assimilating with the new onslaught of hormones and heightened senses. The surgery might cause mental and emotional distress that could lead to depression and even suicide. So Tucker is feeling like shit because he can’t do the one thing he was saving up since he was thirteen, stuck feeling all these new urges and suffering migraines from the suddenly very loud noises and overbearing smells.
When Django courts him, it’s hard at first. Tucker was used to chasing - he wasn’t the one being chased. No one thought he was worth being chased.
Django did. And he’d lie if it didn’t make him feel desired, especially when they decide to finally have sex. Tucker does get squeamish about it, citing what the doctors had told about his lack of slick production. He just wanted the alpha to know what he was getting into and so he didn’t get told he lied or something.
Apparently, that wasn’t a problem for the skeleton, who, Tucker discovered, was actually very patient and very thorough about things he deemed important. They hadn’t even actually fucked that night - it was like the alpha had to prove he could make Tucker as whimpering, soaked puddle thats melting in his soiled sheets.
Are they automatically "amab" (to use IRL terms) since female MCs are automatically alphas & male MCs omegas?
At first I was gonna have nonbinary mc's have the choice of being either amab or afab. However, due to many asks I've been getting I have the sneaking suspicion that some people are going to use afab nonbinary mc to fulfill their omega girl dreams which defeats the whole purpose. So! I've decided that nonbinary mc will be amab. This will also make it easier for me to write because I already have so many variations to do. Also, I never said male mc's are automatically omegas. Male mc's and nonbinary (amab) mc's have the choice to be either a recessive alpha or recessive omega or a beta. While female mc's are automatically recessive alphas. Although if I keep getting complaints about female mc I might just scrap that idea altogether and only keep the male mc and nonbinary mc (I'm petty I know).
I fully support your right to make whatever mcs you want for your interactive fiction. I think it's great that a female MC can only be an alpha for reasons of commentary and themes. However, as a queer female who is very feminine in appearance, I think it's a little discouraging that there's an implication that it's less queer for a female to have a certain build or appearance, especially when there are no such limits placed on other mcs. I suppose I just don't really understand why it would be okay for other mcs to be able to present however, while female mcs can't. I also understand that I might have taken it a bit too personally since it took me a long time to feel that I was valid in my identity (and that I was queer enough) regardless of my appearance which I loathed for a long time. From my point of view, it's strange to say that appearance and particularly the aspects of it that you can't change like build or height are so important when it comes to conveying identity. Of course, that isn't to say that you should necessarily change it and I have no right to tell you to do so as it is your own project, but I thought I would express my confusion on the subject so I could have more insight on your decision.
There are two reasons why I had female alpha mc's masculine in appearance.
1. The biggest reason is the biological aspect (go check out the biology segment of the guide). It makes no sense for an alpha to be feminine in appearance. Also it's not like the female mc won't have "feminine" aspects such as what they wear, how they act, relationship dynamics (Valenne will always be the more dominant one in the relationship and in bed). Plus female mc's aren't the only one with appearance restrictions. It's the negative part of being an alpha or omega. Luckily a beta mc doesn't have to worry about that.
2. I'll be completely honest here! I wanted to avoid the omega girl uwu feminine y/n trope. A way to do that was that if you wanted to play as a female character then you're only allowed to be an alpha that is biologically masculine. That WILL NOT change no matter how much people complain about it.
I knew full well that people would get angry about this and I honestly don't care. If you get personally offended by this IF then you have the free will to look elsewhere. There are HUNDREDS of IF's where you can play as a feminine female and there are also SO MANY IF's that are gender-locked female mc.
Mates are individuals who form a biologically and socially significant bond, often driven by pheromonal, hormonal, and reproductive instincts. While the most common and instinctively powerful pairing is alpha × omega, mates can also form between omega × omega or alpha × alpha, though these bonds are less frequent and often socially less recognized. Alphas and omegas can also feel strongly bonded to betas as mates, but betas do not experience the same instinctual pull, making these pairings asymmetrical in terms of biological intensity.
Mating often triggers emotional attachment, heightened desire, and reproductive readiness in those involved. For omegas, this can amplify receptiveness and fertility, while for alphas it enhances protective and possessive instincts. Dominant alphas and omegas amplify mate bonds through their potent pheromones, making attraction and long-term pairing more likely. Social factors, arranged unions, or personal choice can also influence mating, but biological drives remain a strong guiding force.
Knotting is a reproductive adaptation found in male alphas (regular and dominant)(also dominant females) that occurs during rut. The base of the penis temporarily swells into a bulbous shape, creating a “knot” that locks inside a partner during intercourse. This serves multiple purposes: it ensures prolonged mating, increases the chance of successful fertilization, and can help secure pair bonding through physical and hormonal cues. The knot typically loosens naturally after a period of time, and the process is physically safe for both partners, though it can be intense. Recessive alpha males do not knot, and knotting is exclusive to biological males and dominant alpha females with the necessary anatomy and high testosterone levels during rut/heat.
Scenting is a biological behavior in which alphas and omegas mark or identify a mate, partner, or territory using pheromones. It is closely tied to reproductive and social instincts and often occurs during heats, ruts, or moments of heightened arousal or attachment. During scenting, an individual may press their body, neck, or wrists against a partner, leaving pheromonal markers that communicate sexual availability, bond status, or dominance. The scenting on average lasts a few hours (on average 4 hours).
For omegas, scenting is often a way to signal receptiveness or claim a bond with a mate, while for alphas (or dominant omegas), it can reinforce possession, protective instincts, or territorial awareness over a partner. Dominant individuals’ scenting is particularly potent. Recessives rarely scent or leave detectable markers because their pheromones are weak and only occasionally produced during rare ruts or heats.
Scenting is not limited to dominance, romantic or sexual interactions. It is also used in familial and caregiving contexts, most often from parent to child or, in royal and noble families, from a designated caretaker or nanny to a child. This provides a protective function, as alpha and omega children are still developing and can be particularly sensitive to other people’s pheromones. By scenting a child, caregivers help shield them from external influences, communicate safety, and reinforce bonds of trust and security. Alpha or omega parents and caregivers may also scent beta children, mostly out of instinct but also to protect them, though the effect is less pronounced than with alpha or omega children.
If scented, it is possible to get rid of it through bathing.
Marking is a long-lasting pheromonal imprint left on a mate to signal claim, attachment, and long-term bond. Unlike scenting, which is temporary and can occur in casual or short-term interactions, marking is reserved exclusively for mates and represents a lasting connection. It can last weeks (average 2 weeks), and if the mark is made by a dominant alpha or omega, it can persist for months or even years. Marking typically occurs during ruts, heats, or mating and often involves bites on areas rich in scent glands, most often the neck or nape.
Once marked, an individual loses the ability to detect other people’s pheromones in a sexual or instinctual manner (meaning that one can not be affected sexually or have their heat or rut be triggered by another person) and can only perceive those types of pheromones of the one who marked them until the mark fades.
Marking someone who has not consented, or marking a person who is not a mate, is considered a highly offensive action and a serious crime. The consequences can include physical punishment, imprisonment, or both, depending on the social status of the person who was marked.
We'll be diving into the more biological aspects (think genitalia and shit) so just a heads up for that.
General Knowledge:
Alphas have higher concentrations of testosterone, which gives them a physically imposing appearance, greater muscle mass, broader shoulders, and generally more dominant body features. Male alphas have a standard penis capable of impregnation, and during rut they are capable of knotting to aid reproduction. Female alphas, due to their high testosterone, develop a pseudo-penis instead of the normal clitoris, though it cannot impregnate. They also have a vaginal opening, allowing them to become pregnant like other females. Recessive alphas differ biologically: males have a regular penis but cannot knot, and females have a 50/50 chance of having a pseudo-penis while still retaining a vaginal opening (Players who choose to play as a female will have the choice of choosing whether they want the pseudo-penis or not).
Dominant alphas are an extreme form of alpha, with even higher testosterone levels and enhanced genetics that make them taller, more muscular, and physically superior to regular alphas. Dominant male alphas have larger penises capable of impregnation and knotting during rut, and their fertility is significantly higher than regular alphas. Dominant female alphas are biologically unique, possessing both a fully functional penis capable of impregnation and a vaginal opening, making them extremely fertile compared to regular alpha females. These physical traits, combined with their superior pheromones and extended ruts, make dominant alphas apex biological figures.
Omegas are defined by higher concentrations of estrogen, giving them a distinctly feminine appearance. Female omegas possess only a clitoris and vaginal opening, while male omegas are biologically complex: they have a penis capable of impregnation and a uterus accessible via the rectum, making them capable of becoming pregnant. Regular omegas have predictable fertility and heat cycles. Recessive omegas, by contrast, have extremely rare heats, making them far less fertile, though male recessive omegas still retain both a penis and uterus.
Dominant omegas combine superior physical genetics with higher concentrations of both estrogen and testosterone. This combination makes them taller and more imposing than regular omegas, and they are significantly far more fertile. Both male and female dominant omegas have enhanced reproductive capabilities: males retain the penis and uterus structure as regular omegas, while females have full fertility without the reproductive limitations seen in regular or recessive omegas. These physical traits, combined with their superior pheromones and extended heats, make dominant omegas apex biological figures just as their alpha counterpart.
Betas are biologically closest to standard humans (that we see in real life) and do not possess specialized reproductive adaptations or hormonal cycles. They are highly diverse in appearance and physiology, which is what allows recessive alphas or omegas to pass as betas without suspicion. Betas have no ruts, heats, or pheromone based reproductive influences, and their fertility is consistent but unremarkable.
Extra Biological Information:
Pheromones and Scent Glands
Pheromones are chemical signals produced by individuals to communicate reproductive availability, dominance, or social status, often on a subconscious level. They are critical for alphas and omegas, as they trigger instinctual behaviors like attraction, submission, or competition in others. These pheromones are primarily produced in specialized scent glands located along the neck/nape, inner arms, wrists, and lower abdomen, with additional subtle secretions in sweat, slick, and saliva. Dominant individuals emit stronger, more potent pheromones that can be detected at greater distances and are capable of influencing multiple individuals simultaneously, whereas recessives produce much weaker or dormant pheromonal signals.
Betas are biologically closest to regular humans and do not produce pheromones or possess specialized scent glands like alphas and omegas. However, like regular humans, betas retain the natural ability to subconsciously detect hormonal shifts in others. However, only dominant alphas and dominant omegas exude hormones at such extreme levels that betas can perceive them though not as a smell, but as a subtle, instinctive “feeling” of presence, authority, or attraction. This makes dominant alphas and omegas uniquely impactful even on neutral members of society, while betas otherwise remain biologically neutral and unaffected by pheromonal influence.
Pheromonal Distinctions Between Alphas and Omegas: While both alphas and omegas rely heavily on pheromones for social and reproductive signaling, the scents they naturally emit are noticeably different. Alphas generally exude warmer, muskier, or spicier pheromones, with occasional hints of citrus or earthiness. Omegas, by contrast, tend to have sweeter, floral, fresh, or green-toned pheromones and, like alphas, also light earthy undertones. These scent differences are subtle but instinctively detectable by other alphas and omegas, reinforcing social hierarchies, attraction, and instinct-driven responses.
Recessive Alphas and Omegas and Pheromones: Recessive alphas and omegas produce very weak pheromones, which are usually only detectable during their rare and unpredictable ruts or heats. They can smell pheromones but do not instinctively react to them like regular alphas or omegas. The only exception is the pheromones of dominant alphas or omegas, which can sometimes trigger a reaction, though this is unpredictable and not guaranteed.
Slick
Slick is a lubricating secretion produced by all omegas and female alphas (dominant or regular) during heats during periods of intense fertility or sexual readiness. Its primary function is to facilitate mating, but it also serves as a pheromonal enhancer, carrying chemical cues that heighten desire and receptiveness in partners. The amount and potency of slick vary by individual and by status: dominant alphas (female) and dominant omegas produce large quantities with strong hormonal signals, while recessives may produce very little or only during rare, triggered heats.
Heats
Heats are cyclical periods experienced primarily by omegas (regular and dominant) during which fertility, sexual desire, and pheromone production peak dramatically. During a heat, slick production increases, hormonal sensitivity is heightened, and the individual becomes physically and emotionally more receptive to mating. Regular omegas experience predictable heats, while recessives have rare and unpredictable ones. Dominant omegas experience extended, intense heats that increase fertility and social influence. Heats are often the biological trigger for pair bonding, reproductive activity, and social signaling within society.
If an omega is not impregnated during a heat, it is followed by a regular menstruation cycle. This occurs in both female and male omegas, as male omegas also possess a uterus capable of shedding its lining in the same way. It is not guaranteed that a recessive will have a menstruation afterwards, making it difficult to know if a recessive omega was impregnated or not.
Ruts
Ruts are periods experienced by alphas (regular and dominant)(and dominant alpha female) in which testosterone levels spike, increasing libido, aggression, and territorial instincts. During a rut, alphas gain the ability to knot during intercourse, which can aid reproduction, and both sexes become highly focused on mating and dominance. Dominant alphas experience longer, more intense ruts with amplified pheromones and physical drive, while regular alphas have shorter, less intense cycles.
Up next: Part Three (MATING)
I've finally written all the information about alphas, betas, and omegas in my story. I know that it's super long but I highly, HIGHLY, recommend that everyone take a look and read EVERYTHING. Even if you already know about omegaverse there are some aspects that are different. Also, because of how long this guide is I'm gonna post it in three parts and then will link it in the intro. post for easy access. Now, lets start off with:
SOCIETAL DYNAMICS
ALPHAS:
Alphas are typically characterized by dominance, leadership, and strong physical presence, often instinctively driven to protect, claim, and lead. They experience ruts, intense hormonal periods that heighten aggression, libido, and possessiveness, reinforcing their role as natural authority figures within relationships and societal hierarchies. While alphas are commonly associated with nobility and power, regular alphas can also be found among the lower classes alongside betas, though they are more often concentrated in wealthier tiers of society, such as prosperous merchants, business owners, skilled craftsmen, and land-owning farmers, where their traits allow them to accumulate influence and resources.
Within noble and royal circles, marriages are strongly preferred between other nobles or royals to preserve bloodlines and status. That said, it is not entirely frowned upon for a noble house to take in a non-noble alpha or omega who demonstrates strength, fertility, or other desirable traits that benefit the family’s legacy. Such unions are viewed as practical rather than romantic and are more socially acceptable than unions involving betas, which carry greater biological and political risk.
Dominant alphas, or "supreme" alphas, are the most commanding beings in the hierarchy, embodying authority in both body and instinct. They are significantly taller and more physically imposing than regular alphas, with an unmistakable presence that can silence rooms and compel submission without a word. Their pheromones are intensely controlling, capable of overwhelming others’ instincts and compelling obedience or desire. Supreme alphas experience prolonged, powerful ruts that heighten their dominance, fertility, and territorial drive, making them highly sought after and deeply feared. Due to their rarity, they are almost exclusively born into royal families or elite noble houses, raised to rule, their supremacy treated as both a biological inevitability and a divine right.
Recessive alphas occupy an uneasy space within the hierarchy, biologically alpha but functionally closer to betas in everyday life. They often have the appearance of regular alphas but lack constant instinctual dominance, aggressive pheromones, or predictable ruts. Their ruts are rare and irregular, sometimes lying dormant for years unless triggered by the pheromones of a dominant alpha or omega. During these brief periods, their pheromones surface and can be detected, revealing their true nature, but outside of them they are virtually indistinguishable from betas. Recessive alphas are significantly less fertile than betas, though impregnation (or pregnancy for those with a uterus) remains possible. Socially devalued and frequently dismissed as defective, many recessive alphas conceal their status, successfully passing as betas to avoid discrimination and preserve autonomy.
BETAS
Betas are the most neutral and stable dynamic in society, defined by the absence of extreme hormonal cycles such as ruts or heats. Free from the instinct-driven behaviors that govern alphas and omegas, betas function with consistency and emotional balance, making them adaptable, grounded, and reliable. Simply put, betas are regular humans.
Betas make up the vast majority of the lower classes, their stability and predictability aligning with the demands of labor and survival rather than power or legacy. While rare and strongly discouraged, some noble houses take betas as lovers, often in secrecy or defiance of tradition. Such unions are considered ill-advised because procreation between an alpha or omega and a beta greatly increases the likelihood of producing a recessive alpha or omega, a result viewed as a failure or a “dirtying” of noble bloodlines. Betas are valued for their usefulness and dependability but are subtly restricted from upward mobility, reinforcing their role as the quiet foundation of society.
OMEGAS
Omegas are defined by heightened sensitivity, fertility, and perceived vulnerability within society. They experience heats, cyclical periods marked by intense hormonal changes that heighten emotional responsiveness and physical needs. While most commonly associated with noble and royal households, omegas can also be found in the lower classes, typically concentrated in wealthier segments of society such as prosperous merchants, successful business owners, skilled craftsmen, and land-owning farmers where protection and resources are more readily available.
Socially, omegas are expected to take on submissive or supportive roles, regardless of personal capability or ambition. Even male omegas are strongly discouraged from pursuing leadership positions, with societal norms framing authority as incompatible with omega biology. As a result, omegas are often overprotected or subtly marginalized, their lives shaped by expectations that prioritize fertility and compliance over autonomy.
Dominant omegas, or supreme omegas, possess a dominance that is equally formidable but expressed through overwhelming presence rather than brute force. Matching alphas in height and physical stature, they shatter traditional expectations of omegas as fragile or submissive. Their pheromones are rich, intoxicating, and deeply influential, capable of controlling emotional responses, bending wills, and drawing others into instinctive loyalty or submission. Supreme omegas experience extended, intense heats that amplify their fertility and desirability, reinforcing their power rather than diminishing it. Unlike regular omegas, dominant omegas are exceptions to the usual restrictions on leadership, and many kings and queens in history have been dominant omegas in equal numbers to dominant alphas. They are exceptionally rare and largely confined to royal bloodlines and select noble houses.
Recessive omegas are similarly marginalized, viewed as failures of an already vulnerable class despite their quiet resilience. They resemble regular omegas in appearance but live most of their lives without heats, pheromones, or the instinct-driven behaviors society expects. Their rare and unpredictable heats, sometimes triggered by proximity to a dominant alpha or omega, are the only times their pheromones manifest, making these moments both dangerous and exposing. Fertility is extremely low, even compared to betas, yet pregnancy (or impregnation) remains possible. Because society often deems them less useful than betas, recessive omegas face intense stigma, pushing most to mask themselves as betas, a deception usually necessary for survival in a world that offers them little protection or respect.
POPULATION PERCENTAGES
Betas: 65% – The majority of society, forming the foundation of daily life and the lower/working classes.
Regular Alphas: 15% – Rare, mostly concentrated in noble families (sometimes even royal) or wealthy commoners, but occasionally in lower classes.
Regular Omegas: 12% – Also rare, typically in noble households (sometimes even royal) or wealthier segments of society, often in submissive roles.
Recessive Alphas: 4% – Extremely rare, socially marginalized, and often hidden as betas.
Recessive Omegas: 3% – Extremely rare, socially marginalized, and often hidden as betas.
Dominant Alphas: 0.7% – The apex of alpha hierarchy, exceptionally rare, mostly royal or select noble houses.
Dominant Omegas: 0.3% – The rarest of all, supreme humans of omega lineage, mostly royal or select noble houses.
Because, in my opinion, omegaverse was first created for and is inherently meant to tell stories for queer characters. Of course, there are some exceptions depending on how the author uses alpha, omega, and beta dynamics. Take @wolfsetfree-if, for example (I love you, by the way). Their omegaverse is very different from mine (again, I will be making a detailed post about that soon), and they have literal werewolves, with alphas and omegas and more that function differently as well. So I see being an omega female in their story perfectly reasonable.
The omegaverse I am using is very similar to the type you would see in a BL. So, with that said, if you want to play a female character, you can only be an alpha with physically masculine traits(height, body type, etc..) and will be taking the dominant role if you choose Cassian’s route.
