100 years ago today the Battle of Passchendaele began. To mark this centenary I have been artist in residence @salford.museum and @wcmlibrary . The outcome of this has been the creation of 226 commemorative plates, a plate for each war since the end of #ww1 . The plates go into regular dinner service today in the cafe at Salford Museum and Art Gallery for the full length of the Battle of Passchendaele. The plates were created with the help of over 75 members of the public during a mass participatory workshop and then fired at the massive kilns of @darwenterracotta .
