The doors were opened and the first glimpses of the plates told me they were perfect! Phew! Always knew they would be !!😉. They look great as they come out together .... Massive thank you to @darwenterracotta for their expertise and knowledge in helping get these plates into production! This morning the plates have been set on the kiln cars and are ready for firing @darwenterracotta . Feeling apprehensive now as the glaze and bisque have been tested in a controlled electric test kiln and this massive industrial gas kiln is a different beast altogether! We have made adjustments for this and hopefully the combustibles and kiln size wont effect the glaze and underglaze too much! Fingers crossed as this year long project to make 226 #commemorative plates one for each conflict since the end of World War One is now in the lap of the Kiln Gods!!! We will find out on Wednesday morning if it has been a success!!! Here's some in progress shots, it's a three stage process to get an even covering and then touch in any bits of glaze that get damaged.
