Thoughts on Speakeasy Hiatus

This is going to be a sort of thought train:

So yeah, I'm gonna riot if the speakeasy hiatus continues for much longer. It is sooooo well written, and the characters are so amazing. It's just so upsetting and heartbreaking that they are not being explored further.

Another thing,

You can have characters of color in your otome games, but what is great about speakeasy is that it actually talks about the issues regarding race and racism. It dares to go there! and Sofia and Julius are so inspiring-Sofia dealing with being a queer woman of color, and Julius have to deal with being a black man in a horribly racist time period and country. At least Sofia got a season two, poor Julius didn't at all! (It's kinda messed up that the black men in the app don't get many seasons…i.e. Julius, Irving)

It's just really sad that these compelling characters get cast to the wayside. Not to say I don't like the content that's coming out-I do, but there's just something about Speakeasy that just makes it so special.

If it was because the outfit system wasn't working out well (people were getting frustrated about not getting the cgs) they could always just change the programming for it. Maybe keep the outfit changes because that's actually really cool, but change it so the system is more like the newer games.

Obviously @lovestruckvoltage isn't purposely being malicious-one of the things I really admire and like about the company is how much they care. Whenever a bug happens they always apologize, fix it, and make up for it-they care about diversity, having multiple genderqueer/non binary love interests is amazing. However as with all companies, it is not without its faults-however unpurposeful or purposeful they may be. There are so many dedicated fans who have been with this company faithfully through its many iterations and changes, and speakeasy is a much beloved game for them and the newer players of the game. It would just mean a lot to many people if this beloved game was continued.
