Vincent being French makes absolutely zero sense. What with the history between Britain and France, there is no way the Queen would have a French family be her Watchdogs. Also, it's very clear you don't know how being bilingual actually works.
You seem to forget the biggest hint in Kuroshitsuji that thePhantomhive line has French blood in it, no matter how far back in thegenealogy. Most of the names in the line are derived from French, if not directly French.Ciel, Astre, and Claudia are all directly French, and Vincent is a Latinderivative name meaning ‘to conquer’ that was brought to England by theFrench (you can google its history if you wish). Considering the ties betweenGreat Britain and France at the time, there would be no reason for thePhantomhives to use such French names unless it ran in their heritage.
Over the course of history there have been many French immigrants to England. Among the first were the Earls of Sefton in 1106 around the time ofthe Norman Conquest. The suppression of Protestantism in France in the 1680sled to a mass migration of refugees trying to avoid persecution for theirreligion, most of whom settled in London.
I believe the Phantomhive family did have French in theirlineage, perhaps as close as Ciel’s great-great grandfather on his father’sside (Claudia’s grandfather) who could have immigrated from France beforesettling in England. Victoria began her reign in 1837, meaning she could’ve hadadvisors in her court that had ties to France, and appointed them to theWatchdog title. This would have likely been Ciel’s great-grandfather, Claudia’sfather. Claudia was born in 1830, when Victoria was 11. Claudia would havebeen seven when Victoria (presumably) first appointed someone as the Watchdog,meaning her father was mostly like the first.
Also, how do I not know how being bilingual works? French is animportant language to me that I have been studying for three years now, so Itend to throw random words into my vocabulary. I am by no means fluent, so I amapt to make a few mistakes in grammar, but being bilingual means you know twolanguages. I do, as I am also fluent in American Sign Language. I practice French as much as I can, meaning I also try to speak with any followers I have who know the language. I am always willing to learn more or be corrected, so when I use the language, I use its beauty correctly.
