Okay so. I might have overestimated this wretched event. I’ve grinded for like four hours (on and off admittedly) and I’m at 400k CC. 

This isn’t gonna be like Voices from Beyond... /sob

It REALLY doesn’t help that my event bonus is basically +8 so pretty average. 

I need to set a more manageable goal that isn’t “30mil cc like last time”

I think 6mil CC, so one mil a day, is perfectly serviceable? I’d like to aim for 10mil CC maybe if possible.

I’m down to 9mil CC atm after spending a million on Ayame’s worthless magia. hahaaaaaaaa

All about TOU’s

Hi Guys!

A friend of mine in our bloomingrosysims-Forum posted this today, and I want to share this with all of you! Because I think she is totally right! Thank you, Brigitte!

Here it is:

“I downloaded this cute little beach house. And the creator put all the links for the cc used underneath. So I went and clicked on every link.

Some worked, some did not. Some, you had to download the mesh somewhere else, sometimes I got lucky, sometimes I did not. I had a gazillion pages open on my screen, a lot flashing with advertisement, only to get to a mesh or an object. Some blogs had been removed, or moved somewhere else, or the links did not work.

I came across angry bloggers that took down all of their download links because of the "greed and disrespect" of people. Greed? What? Greed? I am downloading, I am not using a ton of advertisement links to get to my downloads. But flashing the blog at people "nananana....look what I have, but you can't have it, because you've been greedy and disrespectful". And people uuuhhhing and ahhhhing in the comments.

I have never been disrespectful, although my mother might disagree. I do want to say Thank You so many times. I love some of the cc I have collected so much, that I would take it out of my computer to hug it to pieces, if that were possible. But I am not going to register to a gazillion sites, tumblr and what not. On most pages you can not comment without registration.

TSR does not let me comment. I need to register. I do not want to register. I have a big screen. And my entire screen is full of advertisement if I download something for TSR. You are not getting my data. Period. Although they are probably collecting it anyways.

I don't even know what is being advertised, except on adfly when they sometimes show me naked women doing rumpy pumpy. That alone did not bother me, but they do not know who I am. I could be 14 years old. I could be seriously offended by seing such content.

I came across the following comment: " #im sry that im probably pissing some ppl off by putting all the cc in a folder #but im really so over all these sims 4 community rules #i love all of you creators tho you make the best job <333 "

And seriously: you can do this, but you can not do that. The next Creator: well you can do this, but you can not do that. The next one: do whatever you like. The next one: don't do anything.

Simsrocouted TOU: "Don't be a dick" Yes well......short and on point.

I do understand that creators want credit for their work. I am so happy when I come here and share a photo, just a simple photo, and I get such nice comments. And that must even be more true for creators that use their free time to create such beautiful things. Without them I would not love the game as much as I do.

I never change the file names. Most files contain the name of the creator. And I often go and search for their pages, by the name of the file. I avoid using my Patreon files. I haven been thinking about my garage appartment, because if I upload it, I need to take out the kitchen since it is a donation set from Simcredible.

If you wanted to honor every single TOU out there, it would take forever to sort out what can be uploaded and what can't. You would need separate mods folders. Or you would have to put links to all of the items. Or, if you do not want to go through all of that work, you can not upload houses. Or, while decorating, you would need to check if it is ok to use this one piece in a house intended for upload.

When I search for something I sometimes keep only one or two items out of sets. I rarely keep entire sets. I download things, I take my mods out of my game, put in the new ones, and I look at every piece and decide what I want to keep. I delete the rest.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

I admire each and every creator. I don't mind wading through their thousand windows and advertisement if I want something. I don't mind paying for something if I really want it. They have my highest respect. They give me something, that makes me love my game.

That being said, I am going to work on the credits for the houses I've uploade. I need to stay in the middle somewhere, sind neiter i.e. Simcredible nor Severinka want their cc to be reuploaded. Not sure what to do with all of these little pieces that I have no idea where I got them from.

I just typed down my thoughts, as they went through my head while downloading stuff for this little house. Now I am going to wade through a ton of cc :-D which is actually something I love doing.”

I agree with her. Thats one of the reasons I don’t build houses for download. I would going crazy with all of this. Maybe...just maybe she can reach a few people with her posting!

“Move together” by James Bay is without any doubt a song that express the pain and the affection for a love that it’s not easy to live. And yes, it could remind of Crisscolfer but let me tell you, the CC like the ffs one and not the real one. 

Sometimes people tend to idolize Chris and Darren’s relationship thinking they live a world full of angst or ridiculously fluffy. The truth is they live like everyone else with ups and downs but loving each other dearly. And this is something visible even in times like these where we only have glimpses and only if we watch carefully. 

Yes, there’s a lot of bullshit involved but what they have is a love that is strong and wonderful to witness. I wish I could find in my life a person that loves me as much as these two love each other. About the song being in Darren’s playlist: it’s a wonderful song of a style of music that our fav seems to enjoy a lot. :)

Ok, still not my best time of the year. Now watching the movie RWRB (that I won't leave my opinions as I don't have same as the vast majority, bc left me with a bitter taste compared to the book), I hurt a tendon from leaving my arm in a bad position for too long. I didn't make a big deal out of it and kept drawing and doing stuff with it, despite it hurting. In fact the art I reblogged before is the last one I could do (feeling pain while doing it, call me masochistic) and now I must be resting for a week because the tendon is VERY swollen (as well as the whole arm, hand included) and my whole arm hurts in an exaggerated way. If I don't do something good, I could be 7 months without working, so I have to follow the doctor's instructions and be patient without using it for anything. Luckily I'm ambidextrous and with my right hand despite not being able to draw, I can use the mouse and is the one with which I usually make custom content (which shouldn't make new textures by hand), so, time to put me in my hobby of sims (since I can't work for the moment). Now I have time to dedicate to advance with Custom Content I have pending (and shouldn't need texture from scratch), since I can't work with my left hand until I recover, and also today I'm going to open commissions.

Unleashing a Community in Action: this year’s CC Global Summit Keynotes

This year, we’re taking an alternative, community-centered approach to keynotes for the Creative Commons Global Summit . In addition to two keynotes from four esteemed colleagues in open knowledge and the public domain, we’re bringing six community leaders to the stage for short talks on their work and experience. They were identified and selected by the Summit program committee.

The Community Keynotes join us from four continents and a variety of disciplines. From technology to journalism, these Creative Commons Global Network members are accomplished leaders in their fields participating in crucial work for a more open world. These keynotes will be: Majd al Shihabi of Lebanon, Sophie Bloemen of Amsterdam and Brussels, Kelsey Merkley of Canada, Natalia Mileszyk of Poland, Dr. Haggen So of Hong Kong, and Omo Yooba of Nigeria. Their bios can be found below.

Majd Al-Shihabi is a systems design engineer based in Beirut, applying systems thinking to as many fields as he can reach. He works with a wide range of academic and cultural institutions and repositories in the region to build openness into their information systems. He is interested in knowledge production outside of traditional institutions and knowledge dissemination to wider audiences. Majd is interested in studying how urban environments evolve and are shaped, which he is studying at the American University of Beirut. He is the inaugural recipient of the Bassel Khartabil Free Culture Fellowship, where he worked on two projects: PalestineOpenMaps.org, operating mapathons to vectorize the content of historic maps of pre-Nakba Palestine; and MASRAD :p latform, an open source tool for archiving oral history collections.

Sophie Bloemen is Director and co- founder of Commons Network, a think tank and civil society initiative based in Amsterdam& Brussels. She writes and speaks on social-ecological transitions, the commons and new narratives for Europe. She is engaged in a number of projects and political process that explore new, creative institutions, collaborative models and bringing the commons perspective to policy. She has worked as an advocate and public interest consultant on policy issues like health, trade, innovation and R& D. @sbloemen

Kelsey Merkley is the founder of UnCommon Women, a project designed to proponent for leadership roles for women and celebrate those in leadership through the UnCommon Women Colouring Book. She is an advocate with almost a decade of experience working with local, national, and global organisations. Previously “shes been” Creative Commons Public Lead in South Africa and later in Canada where launched numerous community-building projects. Kelsey now lives and works in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Natalia Mileszyk is a lawyer and public policy expert dealing with digital rights, copyright reform and openness. She works for Centrum Cyfrowe, a leading Polish think-and-do-tank, where she analyses and remarks on the social aspects of technology and a need for human-centered digital policy. She is also active in Communia Association for Public Domain and Creative Commons Poland. For the last three years, she has been actively involved in copyright reform advocacy at the European level. A graduate of the University of Warsaw and the Central European University in Budapest( LL.M .). You can find her on Twitter at @nmileszyk.

Dr. Haggen So is the president of the Hong Kong Creative Open Technology Association and the public leading of Creative Commons Hong Kong. He is a visiting lecturer of the Hong Kong Community College and previously taught in Hong Kong Baptist University as lecturer in the department of Computer science. Dr. So also has experiences in commercial software developing and developed software products for renowned companies such as Kodak.

Omo Yooba is a journalist with eleven years professional experience in the Nigerian broadcast media. He has dedicated eight years of his lifetime to the propagation of the Yoruba ecological knowledge and cultural on the digital space. As an advocate of multilingualism and internet universality, Yooba had worked with stakeholders in the effort to bridge the digital divide, devoting minority languages a voice on the Internet of Things, and marginalised society access to digital resources. In addition to being able to teaching the Yoruba language on tribalingua.com, Yooba is a volunteer translator and has worked with Localization Lab to localise digital security and Internet circumvention tools( EFF ). He is the Lingua Manager of Global Voices in Yoruba. In 2018, he collated more than a hundred oral literature of the Yoruba which is in the archive of the Firebird Foundation for Anthropological Research in Phillips, Maine, United States.

In addition to these community keynotes, CC has invited two keynotes from four international leaders in free culture and open knowledge. Our first invited keynote is Adele Vrana and Siko Bouterse, co-directors of Whose Knowledge ?, a global campaign working to create, collect and curate knowledge from and with marginalized communities, so that the internet we build and defend is ultimately an internet for all.

Our second invited keynote is James Boyle and Jennifer Jenkins of the Duke Center for the Study of the Public Domain, whose keynote will discuss music copyright, the Public Domain, and their work as advocates and lawyers to improve access to knowledge. Jenkins and Boyle recently spoke at our “Re-opening of the Public Domain” event in San Francisco. Watch the video to get a preview of their talk and read an interview with them on the CC blog .
