Colby had never in a million years imagined herself as a princess. A princess? "Yeah, right." Colby snaps at her parents, "They must have the wrong girl." Its the day of Colby's sixteenth birthday, October 27th to be exact. She sits with her parents at the garden of in the backyard with a birthday cake sitting on the table before her. Colby stares at the cake, wishing that she could just disappear. She had waited for this day to come, to finally be declared as a young adult in her household. Turning sixteen would mean she would find what the true meaning of what freedoom felt like, but only to have that feeling snatched away from her without hesitation. Colby closes her eyes, wishing for this moment to be over as her parents take a few minutes for their daughter to breathe, retrying to reassure her that she's the one. A real princess. But she doesn't take it. Colby wasn't exactly the royal type. She's always been someone who's grown up to being one of the boys. Her parents found it weird that she was always playing with a group of males instead the group of young girls who played with their spotless Barbie dolls. Its the reasoning for her obsession with archery and sword fighting, and even though she's a tomboy she's always kept her strong femininity. She's athletic, but cute, which was something that the boys could never take away from her. Her fistey but friendly attitude led her into a world where everything didn't have to be perfect, which lead to obvious clashing with girls. Other than a few female friends, most girls called call her all types of names in school; freak, weirdo, and a boy, but Colby never let it get to her. She would scare the girls away instead of call them names of her own, which caused a grow in concern Colby's mother had for her. Its now Colby's seventeenth birthday and her mother decideds to cut Colby off from her friends in exchange for the royal side of the family. She grows rebelious against her mother, so she decides to cut her long chestnut hair into a short blond pixie cut. Her mother doesn't agree. Colby still complies to her family history even if she didn't know much about it, but still confides in her male friends. She begins attending events with her grandmother, the Queen of South Korea, but always ends the evening with embarrassment. Far too many times along with mistakes, her parents decide to send her to Ivory Rose Academy. Its now a year later, and Colby is eighteen, staring out the window of her room at the school. She hums a song to herself softly, spotting her reflection in the window. The girl is still eagerly taking in the school, but she misses her family and friends back in Korea. Here she's learning, and progressing, while calling some people a few unmentionable names, but still learning. She doing this because of two simple reasons; her mother and her home. Colby wants her mother to respect her and who she is, and she knows she has to be brave enough to raise her home as a Queen. Sure, things like a soon arranged marriage, a few lessons on manners, and a few dress fittings may not be exciting to future Queen Colby, but if the crown fits she can't fight it forever.
