1. How did you discover DGM?

I was in like 8th grade when I discovered I could read manga online (back when onemanga? I think? was still around), and I was asking a friend what they would recommend– somehow DGM came up in the conversation, but she said the first few chapters creeped her out so bad that she couldn’t continue. I was like…challenge accepted, and the rest is history lmao.

10. Do you prefer the anime or the manga?

The manga, no contest. Hoshino’s art style is amazing, especially starting in the Ark arc and beyond, and I don’t think either anime attempt really did it justice.

(I didn’t necessarily dislike either anime though!)

27. What are your thoughts about the Innocence?

Tbh I’m fascinated!

One of my favorite aspects of the Innocence is that over the course of the series, its relative ‘goodness’ has been so deconstructed despite it being the weapon of the Good Guys–the way it increasingly exercises its own willpower and impedes the free will of the Exorcists, the way it can impact their health, etc.

Since the debut of Apocryphos, I’m really interested in the agenda of the Innocence/the Heart itself and how it measures up to the other parties in play. I’m not convinced that the Innocence is necessarily pro-humanity, rather that the Order/Exorcists are the vehicle for its influence–for better or worse.

One of the big appeals of DGM to me in general is the ambiguity about how good the Good Guys really are, and the nature of the Innocence really plays into that!

17. If you were a Noah, what kind of Noah would you like to be?

Tbh if I was a Noah I would absolutely be The Anxiety of Noah,  Neurosis Incarnate lmao.

20. With whom would you like to play games and what kind of games?

I love word games like Bananagrams/Taboo/Scattergories, so my pick would have to be Lavi!

30. If you could kill off a character in DGM, who would it be?

Hmmmmm this is a tough one tbh. I would have to say Sheril, mostly as payback for Tokusa’s legs, and because killing him wouldn’t break the story.

32. If you could write an ending for DGM, what ending would you write?

a….happy one…..? :‘0

Tbh with how wild things are I can’t even imagine how things will end enough to come up with any sort of plausible wrap-up!

But I would at least want for the Allen we know to continue existing and in relative peace, with no Noah or Nea or Innocence or Order to fuck with his agency. *Chris Crocker voice*  l e a v e  A l l e n  a l o n e

(If Kanda got to live in relative peace as well that would be fantastic, but if he actually survives the series, i will eat my hat)

39. If a character would sing you a lullaby, which character should it be?

Marie, I’m all about that harp life and I headcanon him as having a Nice Voice!

Top 5 dgm moments, go

I’m pretty sure I’m forgetting parts, but these were the first five moments that popped into my head! Chronological order.1. Allen’s philosophy. Basically the part that made me decide I was into this manga for the long haul.

2. Level 4 appears. This panel gave me straight up chills, and I think the Level 4 introduction is probably the scariest part of the manga for me.

3. Player 3 has entered the game. Seriously though what a badass.

4. Be still my fucking heart. Look at that smile, what a great.

5. Surprise, bitch, bet you thought you’d seen the last of me. Honestly this whole section is great, I love Lenalee and Marie’s talk.
