So, like, for nsfw refs, do you use adult websites or like ref other nsfw art pieces for genital anatomy?

Sorry for the late reply! This is somewhat related to a previous post about art stuff.

I don’t do this very often, but if I like how a certain part looks in other nsfw art pieces or in a random irl pic I happen to stumble upon, I usually try to sketch it to see what makes it look so appealing to me. Or vice-versa, if something looks off on my own nsfw drawings, I try looking at other people’s art to see how they portray that exact pose/body part/thing, and analyse why it works there, and what I am doing wrong. Honestly it’s pretty much the same as with all of my art, the subject matter doesn’t necessarily make it more sexy lol I have a bunch of sketchbook pages that are filled with rough sketches of all kinds of pussies because one day I woke up and realised that I don’t know how to draw a pretty pussy, and tried to fix it… Sometimes I start obsessing over one specific artist and study how they draw genitals until I figure something out for myself lol Mentaiko (Itto) influenced the way I draw peens a lot because he draws them very thick and almost “marshmallowy” sometimes.

But to answer your question, if I have to find reference material for smut specifically, I either look it up on twitter (mostly out of convenience) or on pixiv R18 page. Both are useful because actual irl smut helps you to see how the anatomy and muscles works and how everything connects during smutty acts, but hentai shows you what are the best ways to illustrate it to make it look juicy and touchable. Sometimes irl smut just doesn’t look juicy enough, I guess… But there should still be something real about drawn peens, pussies and butts, I think it makes it look the most appealing.

I'm not limiting myself to the fandoms I'm in, but please know that I may decline a request based on various factors, the obvious ones being: inappropriate content (mainly sexual, mild blood is a maybe) and problematic things (you know the drill with this one, I have a DNI list on my pin post).

I'll probably draw all requests traditionally. But also don't expect much than a colored sketch (this whole thing is mainly for practice and bc I'm being feeling down. I'm trying to have fun!)

A Potrait, A Silly Little Doodle, An Art

You know how to do potrait, why you always draw a dumb thing instead of do a serious painting? Was a question I sometimes got from a very young artist.

Well, I think it simply because that dumb things make me happy. It makes me giggle and cackling like a madman while I draw. and in turn, perhaps someone out there needed the same little joy to make their day a bit brighter with laugh.

Art can be like that, a silly little thing, a small joy, instead of a grandeur like monalisa. I still do a potrait here and there for practice, and it often incredibly cliche as I keep drawing whoever I like, again and again just for the sake of that joy. It would be a lie if I say I practice with potrait for better capturing diversity or study anything seriously. I found myself chasing the satisfying part of creating something I like and sharing it with people first, before the studious aspect of doing potrait for the sake of "perfecting" my art. What is perfect anyway? What is better? I guess there is no finish line.

I saw a lot of self taught young artist nowadays, at least from where I come, tend to put themself against this impossible race to prove who can draw better, who's having a better artstyle, and who can reach that pinnacle of potrait study faster. Worst, I met one or two who spiralling into depression because they think they are not talented enough after two failed attempt at realism potrait.

You just need to draw. Keep drawing. Draw something you like. Draw whatever dumb idea in your head, laugh with it. It doesn't need to be perfect. It certainly doesn't need to be something as big as a potrait study.

Just create something you like first. Share it with three or four people who always lurk around your account. Give it time, you will improve before you know it. I think finding joy in your creation first is an important step to be great at it.

I can look at my piece and often see what's wrong but am not skilled enough to fix it. This time I freehanded to fix it and I think that's my issue

Not that I freehand, but that I can't sketch and end up with layers of layers of "sketching"

I like this feeling that every new drawing is not just fun in itself, but also teaches me a lot. Even the mistakes I made! That arm is too thin? Sure, next time I know better. The angle is wonky? I learned something about perspective! Colors are pale? Well next time I will be bolder.

It’s really thrilling.
